Excellent food, nice rooms, impeccably clean both indoors and outdoors. Nice touch with the greenery and houses to give a very intimate feeling. And who needs a pool when living practically on a beach like this! We came with two small children and had a wonderful weekend.

I stayed at Sele's over Easter and it was a perfect retreat to chill out in for a couple of days. I wish more 'hotels' were like this. We stayed in the 'family room' which was absolutely perfect - two double beds - with nets - a little reading area with sea views and a hammock. We couldn't have been... More

Do not come here if you want to party: Matemwe is a small, extremely poor village surrounded by a few cloistered hotels. But Sele's is the perfect place to chill out on one of Zanzibar's most beautiful beaches. The beach feels almost private. The water was emerald green and the sand felt like sugar. There were a few locals, including... More

We were very pleased to find ourselves staying at what seemed to be the most happening spot on Matemwe Beach! Our sleeping accommodations were small yet totally adequate, but it was the bar/lounge area that really made it all worth it! We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the beautiful upper level lounge, and several delicious dinners below. The ambiance was... More

Matemwe is really over charged comparing other parts of Zansibar like Paje, where not only the beach is much more beautiful but also for the same price of 60$/night you get a 25qm bungalow with seaview including a design bathroom, free wifi, a swimmingpool, possibility to rent a scouter and so on (for example Cristal Resort, Paje) Seles's Bungalow is... This place was great! We enjoyed every minute of our time relaxing in Matemwe Beach and Sele's Bungalows was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant served the most amazing fresh fish every night. If you are looking for a place right on the beach with a laid-back atmosphere and excellent food, this is definitely the place for... More

A very welcoming staff and an intriguing looking beach around Matemwe village surround you upon arrival. Seles is a good chill-out spot at very good value, their restaurant and bar is always fully stocked and plenty of eating options are available throughout the day at good value. The beach is just awesome, you can either walk to a massive reef... More

Seles is lovely, relaxing and right on Matemwe Beach. We had a somewhat small room but it was very comfortable and relaxing (all rooms have fans, mosquito nets and ac as far as I know). None of the rooms have sea views but the beach bar and restaurant does. The staff were kind and attentive and the bar/restaurant was wonderful.... More

I spent 4 nights at Sele's Bungalows in Matmwe beach in Zanzibar, and I have only good words to write on this little peace of heaven! The staff are amazingly nice and friendly - with a true understanding of your needs. The location is incredible - on the beach, with the white sand, blue ocean and sky surrounding it. The... More

We spent 2 nights (only) at Sele's and it was such a great stay! Staff is extremely helpful and kind, the food is amazing, we had the best seafood of our Zanzibar vacation! The fish is fresh and cooked simply but very tasty. The location is fantastic, it is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the laid back atmosphere.... More
