We stayed at the Amaan in Nungwi for four nights. Rooms were clean but basic and got incredibly damp due to the closeness of the ocean. The balconies overlooking the ocean are ok but not properly separated from other rooms. After four nights we moved to a hotel in Kendwa which was half the price from Nungwi. The beach in... more

We had booked a 6 nights stay at Amaan Bungalows after climbing Kilimanjaro and doing a Safari like so many before us. The drive to the hotell from the Airport was nice but when we got closer to Nungwi it was pretty much horrible. Litter everywhere, especially plastic bags etc. This changed when we entered the hotell part of Nungwi... more

We stayed at Amaan for a couple of nights, the surrounding is lovely, nice beach, clear water perfect for people who just want to get away and relax. The rooms at Amaan was nice but the service was terrible.. The personal seemed offended when we asked for new towels or information etc. They overcharge you big if you book anything... more

I stayed at Amaan Bungalows for 3 nights in October after climbing Kilimanjaro and doing a safari. We wanted nothing more than to lay on the beach and forget about the sore muscles. The water was GORGEOUS; however, there were a few impediments to our relaxation. First, one day one we noticed what appeared to be (and smelled to be)... more

We stayed for one full week in Amaan, after our safari. From all the places we stayed in during our 17 day Kenya / Tanzania tour, this one was BY FAR the cleanest and best value. We stayed in a bungalow with airconditioning. Regular price is 60$ per night, but on arrival I was able to negotiate it down to... more

We stayed at Amaan Bungalows in Nungwi after not being able to secure a room in Kendwa. The bungalows at Amaan are really nice, modern, clean, very nice sizes, bright, etc... but the place is very big and has no vibe or soul. As well, and perhaps more importantly, there is no beach in front of Amaan (perhaps this was... more

I had a really hard time trying to decide where to stay in Zanzibar. I am very happy I choose Nungwi first, then Amaan Bungalows. I almost choose Kendwa because of the beautiful beaches. Nungwi has beautiful beaches as well, just not in abundance as Kendwa. Amaan was located right in the middle of all the action. Although it was... more

My wife and I went here because we didn't want to stay in just another AI resort. We were not disappointed! We knew we were on the right track the moment we stepped of the plane and got into our transfer taxi. The guys were very friendly and chatted all the way to Amaan. Please note that the road can... more

this is a good budget no frills hotel, some of the rooms have aircon(for an extra fee) which is definitally worth it as we would never have survived without it. The breakfast is small but satisfactory. The meals are average at the restaurant and take a very long time to get to your table. There is however a great italian... more

Booked directly with the hotel.Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic view and room P11 is the last seaview room, so quite private.
