We came to Nungwi Beach from Paje Beach on the East Coast so I guess my review is biased somewhat as we really enjoyed Paje, which is quite undeveloped, and then came to Nungwi which is a bit tacky in places. After arriving at Flame Tree we went for a walk and turned left out of the gate. What a... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Regarding the soap I think there must have been a language failure as we sell souvenir soaps for $1 per piece in our small gift selection. Soap is provided free for guest rooms and is replenished as necessary. We try to support local enterprises as much as possible and the... More

We were seven people in the age from 21 years to 52 years staying in four different cottages, and we all had a really nice experience :) First of all, the place was just beautiful. The beach was nice and the light was so fascinating. I felt I was a part of a dream the first day I woke up... More

Fantastic week spent at Flame Tree Cottages Hotel. Superb room, lots of space for a family of 4 with 2 children and AC very much appreciated. Lovely having breakfast on our verandah overlooking the beautiful gardens. Stunning pool and the restaurant serves the best food in Nungwi overlooking beautiful beach with the whitest sand I have ever seen. We received... More

We stayed at the Flame Tree Cottages for four nights and enjoyed it very much. We were a family of four and had lots of space and quiet and wonderfully cool AC. We enjoyed our breakfast in the restaurant, so we could order what we would like, it was fresh and good and we ordered dinner in advance, so there... More

We had a cottage which was nice. Kitchen was not so clean. Staff were cold. We had no one great us, we asked everyone their name and no one remembered ours. And we asked in Swahili! We were here for a few days and nothing specific to us was ever remembered. We did not feel particularly welcome. Loved the pool,... More

The cottages are set in a beautiful landscape and the eating area overlooks the Indian Ocean. The room we were given was near the pool but unfortunately the air conditioning didn't work so they moved us to another room where the fan rattled pretty loud and the bathroom was much smaller and dingy looking. Breakfast is served on the veranda... More

We spent a peaceful weekend at Flame Tree Cottages this September. The cottages are set in a beautiful and peaceful garden. There is a swimming pool with plenty of loungers and hammocks. There are several hammocks perfectly positioned to lie in and watch the sun set over the ocean! The beach is just the other side of a small stone... More

We stayed for 4 nights at flame tree, the grounds and pool and really nice and staff very friendly. Room was OK, paid extra for sea view which was bit of a waste of money as all the rooms has a good view of gardens etc and you couldn't really see the ocean from room! The bed was very small... More

We traveled to Flame Tree as a group of 13 after 10 had climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and a two-day safari excursion. The staff was friendly and helped us check-in. We decided to have dinner at the hotel that night as we expected the beach bbq. Apparently there was a mixup and the bbq required a day's notice to setup (even... More
