We stayed there for 3 nights and would absolutely have enjoyed staying for one more week, at least. We had a fantastic room, big and clean. The staffs were ever so service minded. We woke up every morning to fresh coffee and tea on our own terrace and as soon as they saw us outside, they came back and took... More

Ok, let me start with the good. The staff are lovely and friendly and the mattress was amazing (if you like a firm mattress like I do). Also, the bread and butter served with breakfast were absolutely delicious! They tasted totally home made. And the pool was pretty good though there was no real view from it. And that's it for... Flame Tree was a choice that, we didn't regret at all. We were 3 friends and planned this get-away for months. We researched several places before we finalized on 2 places split 3 nights at Flame Tree and 4 nights at a resort in Pongwe. We hired a car and drove for 1-hour to reach Nungwi. The drive was without... More

We visited mid March 2015. Flame tree cottages was recommended to us by a Dar es salaam resident and the local experience proved correct! This is the ultimate place for a "get away from it all" vacation. Flame tree accommodation is superb as is the service and staff. Very friendly management always available to help with issues and provide advice.... More

We planned to stay at Flame tree cottages for 3 days but after being there chose to extend our stay for 3 more days. The place has a tranquility and spaciousness about it that you wont find in any other place on this beach. Breakfast on the porch and yoga on the roof terrace right on the beach by sunset... More

We flew to Zanzibar for a 4 day, 3 night escape from our volunteer responsibilities in a small rural hospital in a remote village on Kilimanjaro. We decided to splurge on accommodations on Nungwi and stayed at Flame Tree Cottages. We had booked a triple but Elizabeth and Saif had something else in mind. We were upgraded to the 2... More

After 2 chaotic weeks of culture shock, miles and miles of walking, and camping safari tours this place was excellent. Family run, beautiful setting, friendly service, great location. Breakfast on the deck of your private apartment each morning was lovely. Quiet setting. Clean apartments. We walked the beach daily. Walking distance to other restaurants, attractions, snorkeling/scuba diving. Beautiful beach!! I'd... More

We walked the beach daily and felt very smug! Flame Tree, for us, was the perfect choice. Space to breathe, wonderful staff and great food by a chef who cares and the owners on site to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Who would have expected homemade marmalade with breakfast on your own private terrace each morning? And the excellent... More

We spent 3 days in the hotel at the end of January 2015. We were the only guests. We stayed in the Rosemary and Thyme family cottage which is on the first floor. It's spacious, consists of 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms, beds are comfortable, rooms are clean with ac and fun, additionally are sprayed against mosquitos every evening. The... More

We stayed at the Flame Tree at the end of our 2 weeks visit to Tanzania, I found The Flame Tree to be quite nice. It's not a fancy resort, but a nice one. The owners are great and the staff are very friendly. We were 11 family members all staying here at once, we all loved it. It had... More
