We spent the last four days of our honeymoon here and it was excellent. We stayed in one of the superiot chalets which was very nice and had a view of the ocean which was within 50m of our front door. The location and set-up of the hotel is lovely (with thatched roofs everywhere which help it to blend in... More

The second leg of our Dream Honeymoon was spent at Ras Nungwi, after a fabulous week in Kenya on safari, the 10 nights of R&R was definitely needed. We booked the new Ocean Suite, which was fantastic, and seemed more spacious than our London flat! With a large lounge with bar area, a comfy sofa and a huge bedroom. The... More

I have traveled in all continents for many years, but this resort is the absolute best get-away I have ever stayed in. The staff is SO friendly and helpful, the location is perfect, the food is brilliant and the diving is beautiful (they have their own diving centre). Calm and relaxed atmosphere. A perfect paradise where time stands still.

We spent the last 5 days of our 3 week honeymoon in Ras Nungwi having previously stayed in Pongwe Beach Hotel and Ras Katani. I was bitterly disappointed with Ras Nungwi as were another 2 other couples who had driven with us to the hotel from Pongwe for their final part of their stay. I am not one for bleating... More

We (my fiance' and I) stayed here for 5 nights on the recommendation of our travel agent in London. It was fantastic all round! My fiance' is Canadian and has never seen the Indian Ocean - she was absolutely amazed. Big brownie points for me :-) We had a room right by the sea and were most happy to go... More

In our experience, this hotel differs in many respects from the published descriptions and it would be well to be aware of this before booking or you (as we were) risk disappointment and financial penalty. This is simply not the cosy, intimate hideaway portayed but a blatent commercial enterprise. Do not be surprised when they demand full settlement upon arrival.... More

We've just returned from a 5 day stay at Ras Nungwi at the beginning of March. Our first impression was disappointing, but the longer we stayed, the more we enjoyed it, especially it's location and natural beauty. Overall, our stay was pleasant, but not wonderful. My biggest concern was the cleanliness of the place, which I found very lacking. Rooms:... More

This place is ideal for some romance and R&R! Intimate, well-designed hotel with comfort in mind. Rooms were clean and modern with amazing views by the beach so we would sleep and wake to the sounds of the seashore. Rooms (huts) have safes and privacy. Hotel has decent convenient internet access too. Staff were very kind, polite and helpful. Food... More

A year ago we booked six nights in Zanzibar for a luxury beach break before our safari in Kenya (see our review on the Mara Porini camp). Unfortunately our first choice of accomodation was cancelled due to hotel re-furbishment, so we had to find a late alternative - this was it- and we were not dissapointed. The hotel was an... More

With miles of deserted white sandy beaches and stunning blue seas, fringed by mangroves and coconut trees, this is a beach lovers paradise. We stayed at Ras Nungwi for our honeymoon and treated ourselves to the immaculate, spacious private Ocean Suite which is truly amazing- more of a house than a hotel room, it has its own plunge pool, gardens,...
