I have just come back from a 9 day trip to Ras Nungwi beach hotel in Zanzibar. My husband and i booked this trip a year ago so we have been looking forward to it for a long time.... we were not disappointed! we were met by a charming driver at zanzibar airport (quite an experience if you have not... We stayed here to visit my son who was living in nearby village on a diving course. Unfortunately I was already ill from the food in Stone Town so could'nt eat much. However, the restaurant service was pretty dismal, lack of understanding and communication a big problem, the food mediocre except for the twice weekly bbq buffet which was very... More

OK, everything everyone says on here is true. The remote beach is divine, and the resort is without the disadvantages of a rustic setting others suffer. The food was good for where it is, and better than most, and most items on the menu were available. I would give the service on the whole 3 stars, although surprises here and... More

Whilst we were pleased to read the many positive comments made by this reviewer, we were truly sorry to read that the he/she experienced illness during their stay with us. During the Christmas/New Year period, three of our seventy guests reported stomach problems to us. Management did everything possible to assist, including offers of medicine, special food, doctors' visits and... More

Quite simply the perfect beach hotel. There's an incredible fine white powder beach that stretches south as far as the eye can see and a gorgeous lagoon out to the reef making swimming in the crystal clear warm water a real dream and lovely trees for shade, but that's only the stuff nature put there. The hotel is beautiful, made completely... More

We had 8 lovely days at this hotel! The only negative thing was that we had ordered twin beds, but got one double bed and an extra bed! For thr price that was not as expected. Otherwise we had a wonderful holiday! The place was beautiful, the rooms lovely. We enjoyed the food very much. Walked along the beach to... More

Very nice place to stay, very romantic. The BBQ diner is excellent with plenty of grilled fish and seafood. Just very few complaints about the service, a bit low and erratic, and the dive center attached to the hotel. Beside that, I hope they will repair the only 2 bikes they have. One had no proper brakes.

We arrived on Xmas eve to a glorious picture of the Indian Ocean lapping against the white sandy beach and the Hotel looked at its best. Slowly we found out it was in fact Fawlty Towers in Paradise ! The food when it came to Buffet time which they put on a few times a week was horribly bland. Most... More

Stayed here after trekking gorillas in Rwanda, an absolutely perfect end to a brilliant holiday. Had a sea view room (nos 8), albeit not on the beach you could see the sea from two sides of the room and it was at the end of a path so had no foot traffic going past. Food was superb, wine list was... More

We stayed at this gorgeous hotel for five nights last month. From the warm welcome on our arrival to the very minute we left, we truly loved our time at Ras Nungwi. Just some of the highlights were: * Food - Incredibly tasty and creatively presented. We really looked forward to every mealtime and the chefs excelled themselves. I'm gluten... More
