staff is very friendly, they found out it was my birthday and had a special dinner set up for me on the beach. They do anything you need. Area I'd secluded away from town so more private, but close enough to walk if you want. Diving is excellent. I will be back!!

This was our last stop on a two week trip to Africa. It is a tough island to get to and bit of a drive to the hotel (that was an adventure in itself, even with a private driver arranged) - but once we arrived we didn't leave. The color of the water was an amazing blue (before this, I've... More

Our family spent 5 days at Ras Nungwi over the 2014 Christmas holiday. The hotel is small, the setting is intimate, and the service is impeccable. It is located a short walk down the beach from the village of Nungwi, and fronts a delightful beach and coral atoll. We took advantage of the on-premise dive shop to book a 6... More

After spending several days in a jeep searching for animals, this boutique hotel was the perfect place to spend four nights. The manager, Rath Wilson, and the service were excellent. There were many places to rest, read or just enjoy the Indian Ocean view. Some members of the family went snorkeling and diving from a boat because the water is... More

Ras Nungwi is from now on one of my top holiday places. The beautiful garden with the cabanas overlooking the sea, amazing beach where the tide comes and goes to give an ever changing view, delicious food, friendly staff always ready to help you. The diving center happily helps you if you want to go diving or snorkeling. The place... More

Stayed in this boutique hotel for one night, 26th Dec. The front office manager is such a great lady who knows and understands her job extremely well. This is a place to rest, away from the hustle and bustle. There' no TV or even a phone in the rooms, wifi is only available in a tiny spot by the restaurant,... More

Finally a place that doesn't over pack with people. There was so many places to sit and you could easily be alone. The woodwork on the beds was beautiful. The people are the best, very friendly and happy. Only downfall was that the water was too shallow to snorkel and you would have to take a boat out to do... More

I was privileged to spend 5 nights ( December 2014) at this most magnificent resort. You feel immediately connected by embracing the warm and caring energy from management which is reflecting all around ...friendly hospitality with positive and relaxed attitude is visible everywhere . Excellent choice of food ( not a self service like in other resorts ) but carefully... More

My husband and I were on our honeymoon in Tanzania and started off our Zanzibar trip at the dreadful Mchanga Beach Lodge. After finding the beach filthy and unusable, not being able to sleep due to woodworm eating the ceiling of our room all night and being served a tomato drink with mold in it, we fled to Ras Nungwi... I have had the fortune of staying at many hotels, but out of all of them this simply tops the list. What really stands out, quite apart from the exquisite setting, is the warmth, care, and friendliness of the management and staff at Ras Nungwi. They embody the phrase, service with a smile. With them you truly feel as though... More
