This was the best B&B we've stayed at in New Zealand. The facilities were just fabulous. Breakfast was scrumptious. The hosts went out of their way to meet our dietary requirements. It is not centrally located, so you would need a car to get around.

Dianne and Doug's warmth and hospitality are something that should not be missed if you are in Wanaka. From the moment we arrived for our three night stay, where they welcomed us into their gorgeous home with tea and cake, we felt like we were staying with friends. The bedroom was immaculate, spacious and with a view to-die-for of the... More

We also have to say that our one night stay at the Bluewater Lodge was the highlight of our three week honeymoon to Fiji and New Zealand. Dianne and Doug are so incredibly hospitable that they felt like family. The accommodations are amazing with a stunning view of Lake Wanaka, a gorgeous bathroom with double showers and heated floors and... More

What can I say. Staying at the Bluewater lodge was the highlight of our honeymoon. The lodge itself is stylishly decorated, the rooms are fantastic, the views are breathtaking, the breakfasts are worthy of a michelin star and the hosts doug and dianne are so helpful and friendly and make you feel right at home. We cannot recommend this place... More

We chose Bluewater having read reviews from this site, not to mention how great their own website looked. We chose to get married in Wanaka as it is truly a beautiful place. As soon as we arrived at the lodge Dianne and Doug were ever so helpful and made us feel very welcome. We were shown the room (master suite)... More

We were lucky to have found Bluewater Lodge through an internet search, as it isn't in any of the American travel books or on major websites (although it does get top rankings in the NZ lodge ranking system). It was in a fabulous location just 5 minutes outside of the main downtown area in Wanaka. For those choosing between Wanaka... More

We have just returned from spending three nights at Bluewater Lodge. It is located about 5 minutes drive from the centre of town with a stunning outlook over the mountains and lake. When meeting people for the first time it is always a little awkward however Dianne and Doug made us feel comfortable as soon as we met them. They... More

This lovely lodge, hidden in a residential area, was one of the most amazing places we have stayed in New Zealand. And more impressive than the unobstructed lake and mountain view, were the owners, Dianne and Doug. From the moment you walk in, you feel you are genuinely welcomed into their home (and we were traveling with a one year... More

Bluewater Lodge hasn't yet made it into the American guidebooks, so it was merely by chance that we found it through an Internet search. But BWL won't remain an undiscovered treasure for long. We were in N.Z. for nearly a month, and although we stayed in more expensive places and also several that were highly touted by various experts, BLW... More
