We stayed here for two nights in March and absolutely loved Riverrun. The location is superb with the most amazing 360 degree views. The lodge is very spacious and beautifully furnished. Our bedroom was very large and comfortable, on the ground floor with a small patio where it was great to sit and read and drink in the beautiful scenery....

Riverrun is a small luxury lodge, 5 mins drive from Wanaka, on a 500 acre farm bordering the Clutha river (New Zealand's largest river) and the Cardrona river. Guests can enjoy walks, running and bike trails on the property. The accommodation is luxurious, stylish, but un-stuffy. The lodge employs a chef and offers a gourmet 4 course dinner to guests Monday through Friday nights, but not at weekends. Evening appetisers are served nightly. Breakfast is delicious. Meg has lived in Wanaka for 18 years and done many of the local activities; hiking, mountain biking, skiing, climbing, kayaking, heli-hiking and heli-biking, cruises out to islands on the lake - not to mention wine-tasting. All the lodge rooms are ensuite, with magnificent views of the Southern Alps.
