Very quaint hotel right next to the lake. Huge rooms with big comfy beds. Hotel was very tranquil but that meant a 20 minute walk into town, we highly recommend the Speights Ale House there, order the green lipped mussels and you won't be dissapointed. Very handy for Treble Cone ski area too. more

This was our second visit in twelve months. We chose the resort for one main reason - ideal location, right on the beautiful lake. On reflection, the resort is designed for an indulgent getaway with no eye for economy - example, the restaurant offered a 'one size fits all' dinner deal for three courses - over-priced and with no option... more

We booked one night at Edgewater on Wotif.com. While this was cheaper than booking via the hotel it was still quite expensive relative to other hotels we stayed in in NZ. Certainly the location is lovely, our unit was absolute lakefront. The unit itself was disappointing though. It was quite small and was reached by a climb up a narrow... more

Situated on a delightful waterfront location with lush green lawns and walks along the bay for the more energetic. The bedrooms are widely dispersed over the location as the hotel was originally intended as a time-share location. My room was facing the water and was clean and functional. Tea making and Internet connection provided although there was no air-conditioning or... more

That was a gorgeous stay for our family in Wanaka. Being mislead we booked another hotel in the town but left it very quickly the next morning. When we arrived here we were very happy and delighted with our decision. We traveled with two sons age of 5 y.o. and 10 months. And for all of us with location near... more

We intended to stay 2 nights and stayed 3 because we liked it so much. It was a perfect location to recover from traveling for 10 days. Comfortable separate apartment with lake view, washing machine and kitchen, at a good value. A home away from home. One minor concern: Ask for an upstairs unit, since steps from above can be... more

Lake Wanaka is beautiful and the Edgewater sits right on the lake's edge in a landscape of verdant grass and massive trees. The on-site restaurants serve NZ dishes well, but the sushi was disappointing. We enjoyed the lamb & venison however. The staff helped arrange for an in-room massage and was generally very helpful. The furniture is not special, but... more

We found the accomodation very clean but mediocre, not one of our memorable overnight stays in South Island. The decor was tired and the bed and pillows rather past their best. Having read on the hotel website about the gourmet food etc I have to say we were disappointed both with dinner and breakfast. Dinner was too fussy, with clashing... more
