We were so looking forward to this accommodation but sadly it was lacking something! The great room was cold! The open fire should have been roaring to heat this room and to make us feel welcome but it wasn't! ! The food was ok but not outstanding We felt that the owners were on a tight budget! This wasn't good... More

Beautiful secluded venue high on the side of the mountain overloooking Lake Hawea. Beautiful minimalist rooms. Mike & Sue are a superb team. Mike is the consumate host & great storyteller. Sue is a fabulous, healthy chef. Roy is the smartest, most affectionate dog. Great venue for hiking/helicopter/jet boat tours in adjacent Mt. Aspiring National Park. DO NOT MISS THIS... More

Silverpine Lodge is truly a hidden gem! You can't quite see it from the road, but you can see everything from its perch on the hill between the two lakes. It’s a bit of a diamond in the rough with absolutely phenomenal views! It's almost more of a bed and breakfast than a lodge, as it is very private and... More

My wife planned a surprise 40th birthday trip for me. It was absolutely magical and we owe Mike, Sue, and their dog Roy at Silverpine a sincere thank you for their hospitality. The lodge has only four rooms so it seems extremely private. In fact it is almost as if you are their invited guests. We were the only guests... More

We stayed for 3 nights at Silverpine, and we where very thankfull found this location! What a place. Still springtime and cold. We where the only guests at that moment and Sue and Mike and dog Roi pampered and spoiled us! From the SH6, through the gate, between the sheep, drive up the path, the adventure begins ! The lodge... I don't know what to rave about first: The fantastic view, the charming hospitality of hosts Sue and Mike, Sue's wonderful cooking, the cozy accommodation, or the incredible landscapes and options for outdoor activities. All were wonderful. An especially nice aspect is the family-type vacation we had there, getting to know the other guests and our hosts, often sitting over... More

What a wonderful place to stay. Unfortunately we were there for only one night. Utterly rural (not a sign of another house), in an extraordinary setting high above Lake Hamea. Stunning sights. The house has a beautiful minimalist architecture and the decoration blends in perfectly. Mike and Sue are very genuine and relaxed hosts and they take good care of... More

So what do you do for the Southern Man who is turning 50, you want to do something really special, but you already live in 'Paradise' in Central Otago and he's already a very outdoorsy guy ...? You go and stay at Silverpine that's what you do! We took a helicopter from Wanaka airport and flew in which is an... More

We had three fantastic nights at silverpine. Mike and Sue are great hosts and Sue's cooking was spot on! Rooms and views fantastic, tourist advice excellent and Roy the dog great company when climbing the big hill. We certainly recommend this as a location to relax, enjoy and recharge.

I was shocked that there were only 14 reviews of Silverpine as this place blew us away. I think this may be partly because Mike and Sue (the hosts) are so chilled out and not the kind of people to ask for a review; most places where we stayed did ask. The setting is one of a kind (look at... More
