Lovely location to camp, Warning to tent pitchers - note that the ground is a bit stoney. The facilities disappointed me a bit. Firstly, I expected there would be a freezer somewhere so campers could re-freeze slicker pads so they could keep their chilly bins cooled. Every other camp ground in NZ I've stayed in (many) has had one, so... More

Four of us, two couples, have just enjoyed a four night stay over New Year, in cabins. We plan to go back next new year. The cabin are reasonably priced, have everything we needed, clean, comfortable and in a situation where we had neighbours but also plenty of space. Nothing wrong with a short walk to communal facilities, all part... More

We were impressed at how easy it was to have our pets stay with us. It was a busy time and there were dogs everywhere but all unobtrusive and respectful of others, the smaller ones that ran around not on leads were well supervised and super cute. Felt very safe with security patrolling and the secure gate system, I can... More

When we first arrived, the camp seemed huge. There were tents forever. But very quickly we met friendly people and most of them were regulars to this camp, and had been coming for years. Tony and his staff were very visable and approachable and I enjoyed his relaxed and efficient manner. We stayed in a roomy motel unit that sleeps... More

Have stayed here before in a motel unit and enjoyed ourselves. This time, stayed in a 'heated' cabin with two additional friends. Heating consisted of a wall mounted fan heater which pointed directly at a power outlet. Needless to say this, combined with the recently burned down next-door cabin and lack of smoke alarm, did not give us the confidence... More

Arrived to our cabin, located next to the wreckage of another, freshly burnt-down cabin. There was no smoke-alarm in our cabin and the heating (it was advertised as "heated") consisted of a very small and cheap heater fixed to the wall. After our first night we asked to be refunded for the following night half an hour after the stated... More

We stayed for new years and have good and bad things to say about the place. Great memories catching up with friends. Awesome new shower and toilet block. BUT and its a big BUT, dont tell everyone that they can camp anywhere they like and then threaten eviction when we have a few drinks and someone around us gets a... More

Being on a self-drive tour, we arrived at Lake Tekapo to discover there was no room at the inn - any of the inns - so we were directed to the Holiday Park at Twizel - the only accommodation available for many kilometres in any direction. We were not hopeful, but fairly desperate. However, we found a little gem. The... More

The cabins are no bigger than a garden shed, a door that does not seal properly so flying cockroaches came in along with Mosquitos so not a good nights sleep. The following night we stayed in the motel, which is new and very spacious there was just no comparison between the two so do yourself a favour and stay in... More
