This is a hidden gem on the amazon. The food was delicious. An authentic taste of Guyana. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We went on a kayak trip up one of the nearby creeks where you could see extraordinary wildlife. From monkeys to sloths. We also did a boat trip to a beautiful falls that you could swim... More

Our group was there for two nights. It is a very pleasant place and a good place to relax. it has activities like board games and kayaking, swimming, beach volleyball, and nature walks. Had a couple of problems with it in that music was played, loudly, on the radio at the main house all the time. It wasn't music I... More

Baganara Island Resort is really a very relaxing place. Friendly staff, also very helpful. Excellent food. Unforgettable activities, such as kayaking, scavenger hunt, visiting the Marshall Falls and historic Fort Island etc. We happened to be there when the owners were also visiting and they, together with the workers went out of their ways to make our stay a memorable... Heaven on Earth As a wedding gift we received a trip to Baganara Island Resort. Just a short 20 minute flight from Ogle, Baganara is an island resort in the middle of the Guyana jungle. The sounds of the birds were the first thing that we noticed when we got off the plane. We were greeted at the airstrip by... More

I have been to Baganara Island now, twice. There are unfortunately few options for quick getaways in Guyana - and when you live in Georgetown, getaways are a must! Baganara is perfect for this - it is an easy trip from Georgetown to Parika, then with regular boats to Bartica, it makes transportation easy without too much planning. The resort... More

I visited Baganara at the end of December 2013. It was a lunch/afternoon stop on a boat trip that I wasn't really that excited about but I was pleasantly surprised. The lunch was okay but the best part was the beauty and peace of the place. There is a little private "beach" on the banks of the Essiquibo which is... More

Baganara Island Resort was a true oasis for my parents and I when I was younger. You get the opportunity to relax at the fresh water beach or explore wildlife in their native habitats. The food was great, especially the AMAZING Lemonade. There was not TV, wifi or those modern luxuries when I was there but who cares?? When you... More
