Starfish

Having read many trip reports about Starfish, I have to repeat what another visitor said: You either love it or hate it.

I would like to propose that there is a middle ground here. Many of the complaints seem to be about things which are standard in Jamaica, and I assume people aren’t familiar with Jamaica and thus, complain about them.

Example: Jamaica works on island time i.e. Slow. If you expect things to be as fast as back home, you’ll be disappointed. If you accept the fact that the Jamaican pace of life is slower than you are used to, you’ll have no problem with it. If you have to wait to check into your room, that is more of the normal case. I’ve been to many resorts in Jamaica (over 25 visits) and I’d be hard pressed to name a resort where the room was instantly ready.
