My wife and I have just returned from a delightful weekend, along with other family members, to celebrate my birthday. We arrived Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning. We dined there each day. We were all thrilled with the atmosphere of Haughley House, its grounds and its food. The hosts were very welcoming and we had long, interesting conversations over... More

It was a privilege to stay with these charming people in their historic home. It was a weekend to remember. The food, the furniture and the folk are top quality. The ad hoc dinner party for three couples who had never met was superb.

What a lovely five day stay we have had at Haughley House. Our hosts were very congenial. The food was excellent, recommend their evening meal with an excellent bottle of wine from Jeffrey's wine cellar. It is a lovely period house which we very much enjoyed. Jeffrey & Caroline are very good company over dinner , for which they decorated... More

We came to stay here for two nights, 13th and 14th September, and what a marvellous quintessentially gastronomically English time we had! Such an atmospheric house that oozes character.....and mine hosts,(or our hosts should that be?) oozed character as well! Wonderful home cooked food by the Lady Caroline and fantastic military tales and good wine from Lord Jeffrey, along with... More

The Lord of the manor regaled us with episodes from his distinguished military career, served us wine and spirits from his copiously stocked (real) cellar, shot invading monk jack deer with his ultrasonic 0.248in rifle for our entertainment, raised his coat of arms to the flagpole in our honour, supplied us with eggs from his copious flock of (brainless) chickens,... We were delighted to find a B&B in such a lovely house with welcoming, friendly and attentive hosts, and particularly enjoyed the excellent quality of the ingredients of dinner and breakfasts. The red berry compote was especially good! A couple of observations - we noticed that it was stated that tea-making facilities were available on request but when we alerted... More

Our excuse for a couple of days away was to celebrate our anniversary and we luckily chose to stay at Haughley House. Our welcome was friendly, the house was charming and so were our hosts! Our room was very spacious, the 4-poster very comfortable and the views over the grounds were lovely - the only downside was there was no... More

We thank you for your excellent review. We are sorry that your chosen room did not have a bath; we only have 3 guest bedrooms, one of which has a bath and had we known the lack of same was an issue, we would have offered the use of the alternative room. Hoping to have the opportunity of welcoming you... More

Where else can you stay for this price, and have dinner bed and breakfast with The Lord and Lady of the manor? Genial hosts, great historic bedrooms, locally sourced fantastic food, superb cellar selection and exceptionally good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble for Caroline and Jeffrey who made you very welcome in their home. Highlight of our... More

Visiting from Australia we stayed at HAUGLEY HOUSE for the second time after staying here 2 years before, we stayed a total of 14 nights spread over June and July 2013. As expected everything was just a delight, Jeffrey and Caroline were attentive in every detail, nothing was to much trouble, and as well as being excellent hosts they cooked... More
