Easy to access hotel and free parking. We were going to Traditional Music Day at the Museum of East Anglian Life so very convenient. Friendly staff with average facilities. However a very average breakfast was an extra £7.50 per person making it an expensive place to stop. Better food and much cheaper at Wetherspoons down the road.

We booked 2 nights here for a family get together in Stowmarket, well......Upon arrival hotel looked a little shabby from the outside, sited in a dead end lane amongst various industrial areas but the staff are very friendly and courteous, we checked in and immediately asked to move rooms as some reviews said that the rooms facing the main duel... We decided to have a meal here on a Friday night as in the past, even though the menu isn't extensive, which I prefer; the food has been excellent and very large portions. Unfortunately it wasn't the case this time. A smattering of oven chips, frozen peas and a greasy, battered fish with a side order of salad consisting of... More

Great Hotel, Although the original building dates back to 16th century the en-suite rooms are modern, spacious and well equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, Hairdryer, kettle, complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits. Most of the rooms are on ground level with good access for those with mobility problems, and for the less able room 21 has a well specified wet room (although there... More

Very dated bit of a mish mash of rooms dotted around staff more than made up for the very hot rooms breakfast was ok drink was reasonably priced food was okay wouldnot stay again as a bit isolated location near industrial units and busy dual carriageway

A bit dated in places perhaps, but clean, good bar and restaurant. The staff were helpful and provided a friendly service. Room was fine, having everything I needed with an excellent stand alone shower

I had my wedding reception here in mid June 2014. From the day we booked, the staff were really helpful, and very flexible with times, food options and rooms. On the day, they were very patient with us interrupting them setting the room up so we could decorate the tables! On arrival, they had everything sorted - the room looked... More

A nice friendy hotel with character. I found it very comfortable - bedding was definitely cream not yellowing! Helpful staff, extensive unpretentious menu, lovely bar. All in all, excellent value for money.

Very old fashioned hotel, decor needs TLC and fast! Smelt like damp everywhere. Large rooms, comfy bed, clean. Shame about the decor. Helpful & polite staff. Very good prices in the bar (1 round of 14 drinks came to only £28!). Thought £76 was steep for this hotel!

We stayed at the Cedars for a short trip to visit relatives, having travelled from Edinburgh. From the outset the service we experienced was outstanding. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very comfortable and clean and although there were functions on in the hotel both nights, we were not disturbed at...
