I love this place. The food has always been fab, it doesn't matter if u are at a wedding or eating in the restaurant, the beef is always perfect. Love getting away here with a few friends, the staff are exceptional, the rooms in the main house are amazing.

Recently had the pleasure of attending a friends wedding at Castle Durrow - highly recommended. The building itself is beautiful, with a lot of the original features & artwork still taking pride of place. The grounds are lovely, with an extensive garden & working stables onsite - definitely a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. One of the most notable... More

Six of us went to the restaurant at Castle Durrow last night for dinner. Arriving late, we couldn't see the outside and were shown in to a cosy little bar, eating afterwards in a beautiful old drawing room: it was only afterwards that we realised the scale of the place and that there were a number of function rooms and... Love this place! We were made to feel so welcome on our return to the hotel. The staff all recognised us from our wedding last year and confirmed for us why we chose it in the first place. The staff here are so friendly and can't do enough to make your stay special. The hotel has just had a fantastic... More

Incredible hotel, every detail is of the highest standard. Rooms are large and antique, yet filled with modern luxury toiletries. Stayed for 3 nights for a wedding and the food was perfect every time - ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there every day. The bar stays open as late as you want it, although the choice is slightly limited. Surroundings... More

My (now) wife and I just got married in Castle Durrow and I can't say enough good things about it. Specifically Marie Laffan, their wedding coordinator, who, in spite of us living 17000km away managed to make sure there was no question unanswered and no stone left unturned. When we mentioned we were getting married in Castle Durrow everyone initially... More

Stayed in Castle Durrow for 1 night with a friend, we had a very spacious opulent twin room in the main castle which was gorgeous. The staff were very attentive but not intrusive. We had complimentary tea & coffee during our stay which was a lovely touch especially when served with homemade cookies. We both felt we were staring in... More

We stayed at Castle Durrow in County Laois. The occassion being the marriage of our neice. On arrival the reception staff greeted us with a warm welcome and smile. One needed a smile after all that heavy rain on the M7 from Dublin Airport. We used car-rentals and Europcar as they had the best deals. After a good flight with... More

We stayed at this hotel in October it was somewhat a last minute decision and while on the road rang ahead to see if they had any rooms available, all that was left was an "Oriental" room at the top of the house which we took, we checked in and were taken to our room by a lovely chap who... More

Castle Durrow is located in the heart of the village. A fully restored, magnificent 300 year old Mansion with luxurious bedrooms each with their own atmosphere. Our restaurant is located in stunning south-facing rooms, decorated with mirrors and hand blocked wallpaper, our head chef creates delicious seasonal menus, popular with visitors and locals alike. We are a terrific place to relax and let romance and Guinness de-stress the mind and body in our cosy bar and reception rooms. In the Magnificent garden, with fabulous scented borders and a walled garden, from where our chefs pick their daily produce, you can stroll around for hours or have a more vigorous walk by the river and in the hills adjoining the castle. A stay at the castle with Dinner and some romance would not be complete without a beauty treatment in our salon , aptly named the Powder box ! ... more   less
