We stayed at Le Grillon for one night to meet friends whilst on our way to Spain. The hotel is well placed near the middle of town with private secure parking just across the road. Check in was friendly and efficient, there is no lift but we were offered help with our luggage. The room was quiet and the bed... More

We've just bought a house in Le Boulou but needed a hotel while building work is underway. The staff were very welcoming and very friendly particularly the jack of all trades who delivered dinner and the hotel manager in the morning. The food was also good. My only issue was the very hard bed which some would love.

Visited Pyrenees region for 2 days during longer stay in France. After long day of driving through the mountains, we reached this hotel early evening to a warm and friendly welcome. Very comfortable room and delicious dinner. Very helpful staff, particularly when arriving home realised had left something in the wardrobe. This was located and has been posted onto us... More

The three of us - daughter, her mother, and I - were having a short break in Languedoc-Rousillon. We had pre-booked a country hotel, but after adding 95 year old maman to our party at the last minute, it proved quite unsuitable. It was early September, the holidays were largely over, but try as we (and the Argeles Tourist Office)... More

The hotel is clean and tidy and reception was efficient. The room was a little small. The restaurant looked a good standard but lacked atmosphere. It is quiet being off the main roads and is fine for overnight.

The lady at the reception desk was very efficient, but unfortunately spoke very quickly, so that we could only catch some of the words to try to understand what she was saying!.(our fault I know, we should learn to speak French). We were given a key and directed up the stairs, a helpful resident told us it was to see... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel as part of a 3 week tour around France – we hadn’t pre-planned or booked anything, so all the hotels we stayed at were found along the way. If you’re doing a similar trip, I’d suggest picking up a Logis or Inter-Hotel guide (any hotel affliated to these 2 groups will have... More

We stayed here for one night mid-august. There's nothing wrong with the hotel, we had a somewhat smallish but nice chamber with a brandnew bathing room. Personally I like a closed car park like they have here (this is a small village but in a very touristic region) and gladly pay a fee for it. The restaurant however was a... More

This hotel is apparently approved by both Inter-Hotels and Logis, but was a huge disappointment and certainly not worth the money. We also stayed in another hotel in Le Boulou which was much cheaper and totally outshone Le Grillon d'Or for comfort , friendliness and quality of service. The room was basic but acceptable. However, the bathroom was primitive. On... More

I can't say enough about this hotel and its staff. My 25 yr old son, a friend of his, and I stayed there two nights on May 15th and 16th 2007, while hiking in the surrounding hills. The hotel staff was the most cordial, welcoming and helpful group I think I have encountered anywhere. Communication could be made in French,... More
