The hotel is located only 10mn walking from the harbour and the few shops of the island. The rooms are clean and decorated in a simple but tasteful style. The room was well equiped even if it smelled a bit in the bathroom. The owners are a couple of lovely italians making delicious pasta. They have good tips and are... More

We stayed only one night at Bella Vista, but ate twice the delicious pasta and felt really like home. The italien owner threated us like their friends! The rooms are reeeeally clean, romantic and the mattresses are good. In front of Bella Vista there is an amazing beach, very quite neighborhood and very near to everything. We will come back... Great location, view and beach access. Owner/hosts are extremely accommodating. Gianni seems to be ever present and always helpful. Rooms have poor soundproofing-he is upgrading it, and we were mostly out of room. Bikes and snorkel equipment available. Be sure to swim to ship wreck to snorkel-lots of fish!

When we arrived the manager (Janey) gave us a map of the island highlighting key area's to visit/ eat at. He allowed us to get changed in a vacant room whilst our's was being prepared. Recommending next door the Paraiso for breakfast. Throughout the three night stay he was extremely helpful, lending us snorkelling equipment to view the two shipwrecks... More

I was almost a week at Giorgio's and Tereza's hotel . I felt so comfortable and welcome that I almost did not want to go . The hotel is located on a beautiful stretch of beach, perfect to bathe, walk , read and sleep , because it's not crowded with people. The food is delicious, Tereza makes the best spaghettis.... I will start with a disclaimer of saying we did not stay here. We were booked and we paid for 3 nights (after reading that the owner would demand payment or file charges with local authorities) but left within an hour of checking into our room. The room was rugged and the location felt less than safe. It appears most... More

Very sketchy location with no beach. I felt very unsafe. The rooms are right next to a swamp and you can see the ground through the floorboards. Just know that it is completely different from the pictures or the website before you go. Would not stay there again.

We would recommend the Hotel Bellavista for everyone! But you should remember that it isn't a five star hotel. Shower pressure was excellent, but the water was nice and fresh ;) not so warm. We ate most of our breakfasts in next door hotel Paraiso, it was 3,5dollars/ person. The location of the hotel was excellent, a 10min walk to... More

I just returned from a two week trip all over Nicaragua (January 2015) and my experience with the owner of Hotel Bellavista was by far the worst part of my entire trip! We booked the hotel online and decided to "splurge" on this place. When we arrived, we were a little disappointed that the hotel was not actually beachfront and... More
