i stopped here for lunch on my way to Lanquin. I stupidly left my phone on a table on the balcony (which my friend was sitting at) while I went to the bathroom. The phone had been swiped by the time I got back. The only other people in the restaurant were staff. I contacted the hotel to inquire and... More

Hi aoife, saddly i have bad news because we cannot see the area we assume you where sitting in, i talked with all of the staff members about your missing cellphone and apparently they told me none of them heard at any time that there was a problem or complaint abount a missing cellphone and i also asked the bus... If you are seeking creature comforts with the tidiness of an upscale chain, this is not the place. It is not air conditioned. Furniture is not new. Ventilation in my bathroom, high up, was permanently open to the outside, so it was not quiet. During my recent stay repairs and improvement were underway. Work started early and continued into the... More

I have to agree with other negative reviewers: the place is kinda gross. It's a nice old building and the staff was fine. But it's musty and the rooms are spartan at best ( I meant to take a photo of the battered, ripped lampshade at my bedside table). The bathroom was not very clean. I killed numerous insects in... this place has zero ambience, is loud, rooms lack any character at all, and is utilitarian at best. the rooms are marginally clean. they smell of the cleaning fluids that are used. it is on the street of a large local street market which is pretty cool and very genuine. not a good place to be out at night. there... This was our second time in Coban. We couldn't get in at Casa Duranta, so we tried Alcazar. The hotel and room were clean but extremely lacking in character or charm, as was the front desk staff. The location is not exactly convenient and definitely not walkable after dark. This is not the place to stay if you like to... More

I went to Guatemala with a group of college students and we helped build homes in Coban with Habitat for Humanity. This hotel was the perfect place to come back to and relax! Our rooms were clean and cool, the food was amazing, and they had a patio/bar area that we all congregated in. We always had wifi and they... More

I spent a week at the Alcazar Doña Victoria and I was very impressed. While it wasn't the most modern, elegant, or fancy hotel I've ever stayed at, it had a lot of charm and interesting design. The only thing I can even think to complain about was that my room wasn't very brightly lit. We had a couple of... More

Entering the Alcazar Dona Victoria, I was impressed by the colonial style courtyard and typical Guatemalan wooden art objects scattered about. I wasn’t as impressed by my room. My room was set up for three people on the first floor. The plus was that it was extremely large, clean, and the water in the bathroom was hot. The minus was... More
