We planned to stay at Casa Gaia on our way to Semuc Champey based on the Trip Advisor reviews but did not think we would be able to find the hotel because we arrived in Coban at night. We were headed out of town and about to give up when by some "miracle" we spotted the hotel in our headlights.... More

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Gaia in Coban. After traveling from Antigua for a good 4 - 5 hours we were very happy to discover how nice the hotel was. The atmosphere of the hotel and grounds is very tranquil. The owners, Juan Antonio and Marta Lidia were very nice and helpful. The rooms were immaculate and the... More

Casa Gaia was a welcome respite from a long journey through the countryside of Guatemala. It is tucked away several blocks from the town of Coban and is located in a spectacular parklike setting with well groomed hiking trails and much serenity. The owners are so lovely, helpful and friendly and our stay was just what we needed after a... More

Casa Gaia was our favorite stop in Guatemala. Really loved the setting and quietness. Staff was very friendly and understood our needs. The food in the restaurant was good but the atmosphere was a bit sterile. Much preferred the outdoor seating and the breakfast was very nice.

We wanted to visit the coffee plantations and use Coban as a stop over while traveling from the Ixil triangle to Flores. We booked Casa Gaia after we read the very good recommendations on Tripadvisor, and we totally agree with the very positive reviews! We stayed here in the beginning of December 2013. The place is very quiet (important to... More

This hotel is run by a former corporate person who retired and is assisted by his wife and children. They couldn't have been more welcoming. After a draining 12 hour bus ride from Pana, they kept the bar open so that we could have a much needed beer. Food was good and they were always ready to assist with suggestions,... More

This place is absolutely outstanding, it's quiet, comfortably, very clean, and the service is superb. They almost treat you like family. The owners are very helpful. We also ate at the hotel's restaurant and the food is delicious. I had the Spaghetti and it was so good I had the same thing again the next night, but the other people... More

During our trip through Guatemala, we had a very nice stay in this hotel in Coban! We arrived in the early evening and there was a party. Especially for our family they made a diner and that was the start of some wonderfull days in and around Coban. The owner and his family were extremely friendly and warm. They helped... More
