In one hand I would selfishly like to keep this place secret, as i had the pleasure to have it almost for myself when I visited it, but on the other hand, I can't keep it for myself, this would be so unfair! The village itself is a postcard. The journey on motorbike from the junction to the resort is... More

I can only reiterate all the praise the previous reviewers have heaped on this place. I opted to have them pick me up at the Hat Lek border after a hair raising trip with the local cowboy vans last time I went through here. They also took me on to Trat after my stay. All that worked like clockwork, for... More

I'm so delighted that we decided to take the time to stay here! It wasn't on our planned route, almost 260km out of the way on our bikes but well worth every turn of the pedal! From the second we pushed open the iron gates into this paradise of a garden we were given a 5 star welcome by Chin!... More

Me, being that sort of character, decided I'd ride my large motorbike to the resort even though the hotel tells you to park outside. And then I got lost. Have you ever tried to turn 300+kgs of bike around on a narrow concrete pathway. Luckily the local villagers helped me out and even guided me to the straight - and... More

Coming from Cambodia, we wanted a room for the night on our way to Rayong. Based on good reviews here, we booked a room here (through a booking site). Taxi from Cambodian border to the resort was 600 baht, resort charged 400 to take us to Trat bus station, in a very nice car. Upon arrival we got a room... More

Firstly I would like to express all of the negatives of Mairood as too many people say only good things. Ummmm, hmmmmm,,,wait a minute, there must be something...sorry nope, oh dear, I can't think of one! Dearest Chin, Judy and all of the amazing staff who make Mairood so MAGICAL! I have entitled this review to stand out from the... More

This is a rare find, once you donyou wil be glad you did. Great service and the cooking is wonderful. You feel like one of the family as you are waited on. Do yourself a favour and stay here. Very close to the border it makes for a good stay when in transit nor just for shopping.

This is one of those places that's so great you almost don't want to write a review, lest the secret get out. The facilities are great, the vibe even better, and it's a really good value. Really mellow and friendly, and since it's a bit offbeat, it seems to attract the awesomest travelers. I only stayed two nights, one night... More

Wht is written by other guests is true. Relaxing place with the sharm of fishing village and a great manager. Do not be shy to ask what you want and you will get it. Food is excellent and individually prepeared. Fresh fish crabs and shrimps just from the sea. You are not right on the beach but what you will... More

We stayed here our first ought in Thailand after crossing from Cambodia. It was the perfect start to Thailand. We had one of the mangrove bungalows and it was perfect! The resort is secluded, quiet, tranquil and very relaxing. The staff and owners are an absolute delight taking care of their guests, making them feel at home and both welcome... More
