Arrived at Summerville, we were greeted by the gracious Sanat and escorted out to the veranda to enjoy high tea. I stepped outside and i swear my heart skipped a beat. I have never seen anything so beautiful. The setting is magical overlooking this unusual lake with little islands in the middle of it while all around are terraces of... More

When we decided we would do a week vacation in Sri Lanka, Ceylon Tea Trails was the first hotel we look into. We planned only a month in advance. So, All the rooms were almost full. Tientsin was the only bungalow available. We stay 2 nights in different room. The fist night we stayed at the room that has a... More

Tea Trails bungalows (I visited Norwood and stayed at Castlereigh) are 1) Beautifully located 2) Well appointed 3) Have good service 4) Have awesome food. Pricing/value for money is hard to pin down since bench marking is difficult in Sri Lanka for this type of property, As such I believe each visitor will have to make her/his mind up. If... More

This is my idea of heaven. A totally spoiling experience, which never feels clinical in the way one sometimes finds in smart hotels. Apart from the glorious location, the staff are what make this place so special. Ever since we left, we have been plotting our return... More

We stayed 3 days in Tientsin, It was the most amazing experience ever, The service is second to none, and the food wonderful. It was so peaceful and the walks around the tea plantation, and speaking to the locals, (who are all really nice) was a lovely experience. More

The highlight of our holiday ! The food is exquisite. In the Summerville bungalow it needs a shower rail or a stand alone shower. The service was just unbelievable. More

This is outstanding. We stayed for two nights in January (one night in Tientsin, one in Summerville). As it's top-end, you expect all of the aesthetics, service and fine dining. But the highlight is the local environment. Particularly at Tientsin and Norwood, you are right amongst the plantations and they are a sight to behold. (Wander out at sunrise and... More

We stayed in Norwood Bungalow for 2 days in late December 2011. It was a fantastic experience. Small and intimate, with only 5 guest rooms. Superb location on top of the tea plantations, which is so quite and peaceful, with beautiful gardens and a superb view. The bungalow is simply and tastefully furnished. But it is the personalised service that you... More

Well, where to start. We arrived at dark, after a long, long drive from Colombo. We never thought we would get their, it seemed interminable. Then after a hairy drive up a steep road, [not nearly as fearsome, mind you, during daylight hours] we arrived. Phew! Ajith, welcomed us with a cool drink and cool hand towels. We were then... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Castlereagh. The all-in system is such a relief - you know you won't be getting an unexpected bill at the end of the stay! The food was very very good and so much of it! The rooms were brilliant and the only place with reading lamps inside the mosquito nets so reading at night... More
