In regards to hotels Hatton and area have only a few good offerings. And Mandira's bungalow at Dickoya is one of them. Dickoya is a short distance from Hatton town and the Bungalow is in turn a short distance(south) from Dickoya town. The sign on the road is discrete---so it could be easy to miss it and end up at... we stayed at Mandira Craig Appin Bungalow for two nights when we had to climb Adams Peak. The area is beautiful, the house is cozy and well maintained, the rooms clean, large and nice, the food good, the tea is lovely and the service absolutely fantastic. The friendly staff manage to make it a particularly unique experience. will definitely recommend... More

I would agree with a lot of the other reviews. We stayed here over the Christmas period and used it as a base for climbing Adams peak. Our host the manager was delightful, warm and really tried to look after us. His cooking and baking was outstanding and the tea the best I've had in Sri Lanka. The room was... More

What a pleasure to sit on the verandah drinking tea while looking out over the plantations on the surrounding hills. Excellent, picturesque location, and a good base for surrounding attractions such as Adam's Peak. Comfortable rooms and excellent food.

Like the other two former plantation manager's bungalows, this is a real throwback to the 1900's. The ambience is real old world charm, style and grace. As a party of 4, we took two of the three front rooms with bathrooms behind. As part of the tradition of the time, there is no air conditioning but ceiling fans would be... More

The bungalow which locates on a hill top overlooking rolling tea plantation below offers guest the best view one can ask for! The air's so clean, so fresh that helps you to relax and sooth both your mind and body! The bungalow is also the best resting place for nearby Adam's Peak trek. However, the best attribute of this bungalow... More

We stayed at the Mandira Dick Oya Bungalow, close to Hatton, as a base for climbing Adam's Peak and exploring the Tea Plantations. The service was impeccable: the manager is a real gentleman, and the other staff were really friendly and very attentive. The food is also great - the rice and curry meal we enjoyed on our first night... More

Nice old british colonian style bungalow next to tea plantation. We had the chance to look at all 4 rooms but had already a booking to stay in the "deluxe room". If planning to go there and can afford it, I would strongly recommend the big en-suite rooms : nice wooden floor and well maintained room. On the contrary, the... More

We had a wonderful time in this bungalow over the latter part of December 2013. On our planned Sri Lanka visit, We took over the whole bungalow for 3 nights as we had a fair number of family members join us. We took the full board option and we had two chefs that prepared some remarkable meals. The food was... More

We stayed two nights at the Mandira Stratton Bungalow in both Deluxe Rooms, overall a very pleasant experience. Only let down was the rundown colonial bathrooms in both Deluxe rooms. If the bathroom was updated to be more inline with the room rates then we would give this a five star review.
