Me & my wife really liked romantic bungalow in the tea garden .. The service was top class and staff will make sure that u feel like the land lord of the place :-) this was our first night in Sri Lanka and the place made it a memorable one.. There were no AC .. But it's not a problem... More

We stayed at the above bungalow for a single night. It was a beautifully restored colonial bungalow. The room is decent sized and could do with a little updating. That aside, the bungalow was situated in the most perfect location. We couldn't have asked for more. It was a little hard to find (even with a local driver) but once... More

I stayed here for 2 nights while climbing Adam's Peak. The hotel is set in a very nice location, the staff are helpful and the food prepared was amazing - Sri Lankan food at its best. When it comes to the rooms, they are perfectly OK, but a little dated and I would say hotel tariff is a little overpriced... More

We stayed in the Craig Appin Bungalow. A wonderful experience of what it must have been like to live the colonial life of a tea planter! I could get used to it. A beautiful old bungalow, enormous rooms looking out over manicured gardens and hills of tea growing all around. Lovely, accommodating staff who smiled and did their best to... More

We stayed here for one night; unique exoerience which truly feels like a home away from home. Our room was huge and we also had access to a large lounge area. We made our requests to the chef (quite specific as we are vegetarians) and one hour later he had cooked up what was our best meal in Sri Lanka.... More

We had a wonderful NYE at the Craig Appin Bungalow, aided greatly by the flexibility and hospitability of the hosts. The food was fantastic throughout (chocolate biscuit pudding for our New Years Eve dinner a highlight!) and the accommodation superb. All of our party had a fantastic time and we would thoroughly recommend a stay at the bungalow to anyone... More

Mandira Strathdon (one of three Mandira bungalows). A great place for a rest day amidst a lot of travelling, but bad roads and heavy rain meant it took seven hours driving from Nuwara Eliya and other trips we'd hoped for were out of the question. Service and food here were amongst the best we experienced in Sri Lanka, with nothing... More

We were very disappointed with the Strathdon bungalow and changed our booking to stay only one night. Be warned that the rooms have twin beds and are off an enclosed verandah, thus have no windows to the outside. Being off the main verandah also means you lack privacy. The bathroom was very disappointing. Thin towels, nowhere to place toiletries, and... More

We wanted to spend a night in Nuwara Elya and the description was mentioning the hotel was four kilometres away. Not true! The residence we chose is Mandira Dickoya Bungalow. The location is the most problematic issue: the bungalow is in the actual Dickoya Estate, a tea plantation 52 Kilometers (!) from Nuwara Eliya (go Google it yourself), which with... More

A amazingly well maintained Bungalow, with excellent views and a place you really want to relax in for a couple of days. The staff very very courteous and did all they could to meet our every need and were very accommodating. Since we had booked all the bedrooms we had the Bungalow to ourselves and it was truly our 'home'... More

As our name suggests our Bungalows are of either architectural or historical interest, all offering much of the atmosphere of Sri Lanka’s glorious past. Experience a style of gracious living and soothing relaxation sometimes so scarce in the modern, time pressured ‘civilised’ world. Each bungalow is a haven of peace and tranquility in some wonderfully quiet corners of Sri Lanka. Each is a place where service is founded on instinctive hospitality, where the food is pure delight - and where quality and attention to detail keeps us awake with the desire to serve. ... more   less
