We stayed at Mandira Bungalows as part of our tour of Sri Lanka. It was a very strange place-- it doesn't seem like it has been updated since the 70th. It was during the rainy season which might explain things, but rooms smelled like mold and linens looked dirty. That said, service was amazing-- the staff really tries their best... More

When comparing the price, this must be one of the best hotels in the country. The view, rooms and facilities are superb. The staff is so friendly and the foods are delicious. I am really looking forward for a second visit with my family.

In a totally old fashioned british style, this accomodation was great. Sure, bathrooms are a little old so as the mansion but everything fit very well together. The view is amazing, surroundings are beautiful. Staffs are all very helpfull, kind and smiling, they couldn't be nicer... The best part is the chef/manager who tasted us in 3 days all the... More

In regards to hotels Hatton and area have only a few good offerings. And Mandira's bungalow at Dickoya is one of them. Dickoya is a short distance from Hatton town and the Bungalow is in turn a short distance(south) from Dickoya town. The sign on the road is discrete---so it could be easy to miss it and end up at... we stayed at Mandira Craig Appin Bungalow for two nights when we had to climb Adams Peak. The area is beautiful, the house is cozy and well maintained, the rooms clean, large and nice, the food good, the tea is lovely and the service absolutely fantastic. The friendly staff manage to make it a particularly unique experience. will definitely recommend... More

I would agree with a lot of the other reviews. We stayed here over the Christmas period and used it as a base for climbing Adams peak. Our host the manager was delightful, warm and really tried to look after us. His cooking and baking was outstanding and the tea the best I've had in Sri Lanka. The room was... More

What a pleasure to sit on the verandah drinking tea while looking out over the plantations on the surrounding hills. Excellent, picturesque location, and a good base for surrounding attractions such as Adam's Peak. Comfortable rooms and excellent food.

Like the other two former plantation manager's bungalows, this is a real throwback to the 1900's. The ambience is real old world charm, style and grace. As a party of 4, we took two of the three front rooms with bathrooms behind. As part of the tradition of the time, there is no air conditioning but ceiling fans would be... More

The bungalow which locates on a hill top overlooking rolling tea plantation below offers guest the best view one can ask for! The air's so clean, so fresh that helps you to relax and sooth both your mind and body! The bungalow is also the best resting place for nearby Adam's Peak trek. However, the best attribute of this bungalow... More

We stayed at the Mandira Dick Oya Bungalow, close to Hatton, as a base for climbing Adam's Peak and exploring the Tea Plantations. The service was impeccable: the manager is a real gentleman, and the other staff were really friendly and very attentive. The food is also great - the rice and curry meal we enjoyed on our first night... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
As our name suggests our Bungalows are of either architectural or historical interest, all offering much of the atmosphere of Sri Lanka’s glorious past. Experience a style of gracious living and soothing relaxation sometimes so scarce in the modern, time pressured ‘civilised’ world. Each bungalow is a haven of peace and tranquility in some wonderfully quiet corners of Sri Lanka. Each is a place where service is founded on instinctive hospitality, where the food is pure delight - and where quality and attention to detail keeps us awake with the desire to serve. ... more   less
