Thanks to this wonderful place I felt very relaxed and comfortable after days of backpacking in bad places. The service was very good with friendly smiley staff. The beds where very comfortable and the fans where cooling. I loved it at this hotel and would recommend it after days of hiking

I visited this place with my family and stayed for one night and the experience was quite different from all other places I've been to, but in a good way. I found it to be a very unique and surprisingly challenging hotel concept. Much of the natural habitat of the location is kept unchanged and preserving the natural jungle surrounding.... More

After a long journey from Mirissa, and finally finding this hotel, we were very impressed. We had three nights here and as we were the only ones booked in for two of the nights we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite. Fantastic unique hotel, service and food exceptional. There are lots of steps to contend with so that is a... More

Due to extensive and ongoing roadwork improvements, our journey was a very long and sticky drive. However, this did not dampen our spirits for long as the hotel was extremely welcoming and very unique. The complex has been beautifully carved and built in and around the rocks, producing many passages with lots of windy and uneven steps. Please note, this... More

Boulder garden hotel is a uniquely designed hotel carved out of the rock face and set among a collection of huge boulders and lush jungle. The architectural design is credited to a student of the famous Geoffrey Bawa and incorporates as many of the natural stone features as possible, including, yes, lots of steps! The rooms are quite basic and... More

A 3 day stay here was forced on us as access to Rainforest Edge was not possible! The hotel is literally carved out of a rock face, meaning that the rooms are virtually in the forest canopy! While this may sound attractive, the entire property is festooned with fearsome steps, with little lighting. Our estimate was 99 steps from vehicular... More

We arrived in a cloudburst late in the day, and wondered what kind of place we had arrived into, as after a difficult journey down a farm lane a flood of rainwater greeted us as we climbed the steep stairs to reception. We then more stairs to our room. We eventually got our room and climbed more stairs to the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were lovely and the staff were all very helpful and attentive. Dining in the restaurant in the the cave with a thunderstorm going on in the rainforest was really magical. Would definitely go bcak, despite the fact that it has lots and lots of steps!

We stayed here at the start of our Sri Lankan tour. Initally we tried to book 4 nights, but could only get 2 as the resort was fully booked. Instead, we split our time at Rainforest Edge (another resort affiliated with Boulder Garden), then onto Boulder Garden for the last 2 nights. I can understand why some people may not... More

If you’re interested to see the most accessible rainforest of the world, Sinharaja, Boulder Gardens is a decent place to stay. Constructed amid large boulders, the quiet boutique resort also offers a guided walk through the boulder caves in the vicinity. The swimming pool, shaded by a large boulder, is the perfect place to relax your bones after a visit... More
