When it comes to southeast Asia, I prefer to travel on the borders of Monsoon season. For the most part the tourists are gone, hotels are plentiful and locals have the time to visit with you. Amata Resort and Spa is a massive real estate development with a strong modern day Chinese architectural influence. The rooms are large with comfortable... More

Our group of four enjoyed 5 days ar this lovely resort. Designed to reflect the natural surroundings with beautiful gardens with many water features. Built with lovely teakwood and open design with an infinity pool overlooking the beach. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing! Interesting little township to explore and fishing village all making a living in... More

Beautiful spot. the rooms are very nice, confortable, clean, well decorated and could hear the waves from there (deluxe room). The beach is beautiful and clean. However big disappointment with the service - the hotel staff was completely clueless. Their English wasnt great, which made it hard to make urself understood when requesting something. They tried to overcharge us when... More

We stayed in the Amata for 5 nights at the end of a 23 day tour round Myanmar. It was a great place to chill and relax after the tour and trekking. The beach is just fantastic and when we were there in low season it was pretty much empty. We went in low season as it is the hottest... More

We spent little over a week visiting key sights in Myanmar. Travelling with 3 kids, we didn't want to overload them with culture so we decided to spend the last few days at the beach. The Amata Spa & Resort was the perfect location. The hotel is stylish, the rooms were great. Each one is really a suite as we... More

The beach at Ngapali is pretty idyllic - long stretch of golden sand with a warm, clear sea in which to take a dip when it gets too hot. You can walk a long way on the beach - one end gets you to the local fishing village and harbour which is worth a look. The hotel itself is lovely.... More

Stayed for two nights at this gorgeous hotel. It was a very enjoyable stay except that we were woken up two mornings in a row (at 6 am!!) by very loud music coming from accross the street. We were told it was a wedding that lasted two days. Other than that, the stay was a delight, the food was very... More

We had a 3 day stay here after some serious sightseeing in Bagan - and it was just the ticket - a fantastic hotel. The room was lovely; clean, modern and cool with a veranda and deck chairs to relax and escape the heat of the day. Breakfast was a buffet feast - every taste was accommodated for - delicious!... Stayed there last year and the hotel is fine except for one BIG problem: the noise in the mornimg. The beach location is great, breakfast pretty normal end restaurant doesn´t have a lot of options (and expensive, you are better off going to 2 brother´s restaurant in front). The big issue here is the noise coming from the street at... More

This hotel was just openning. It is not far from the airport, but the beach is not very clean. Nice swimming-pool, staff is nice. There were nasty smells in the bathrooms. We spent new years day and the buffet was nice.
