In my last review I complained bitterly that when I visited Amata that the all day music reminded me of a 1980's Thomson Sun & Sea Hotel in Majorca. Many other reviews picked up the same theme. But management DO listen. We noticed last week, as we walked by each day on our beach stroll ,that the music had stopped... More

We spent four nights at this characterful, but great hotel, at the end of our 13 night tour of Burma. We were looking for luxury and relaxation after an intense, but amazing tour and that's exactly what we got with this hotel. Located right on the white sand, the main building of this hotel is shaped like an upturned boat,... More

This is the first time we use our time to write a review in tripadvisor. Our Christmas and new year in Ngapali was normally in Sandoway Resort every year till 2015. This year we tried Amata and it was lovely. The staff is very helpful and the spa service is very good. The first impression is the hotel entrance. Everyone... More

We were in room 401 (first floor) which was delightful. The view was beautiful and room service perfect. The entire stay was delightful the staff professional and the food wonderful ( portions way too big ). Lobster was $50 and way to expensive but all else perfect. Great way to end our Myanmar vacation. Thumbs up for this place, would... More

The bathroom is on the ground floor which means you have to go up and downstairs at night which can be quite dangerous. The cottages are quite tired and have a tatty bathroom with a wet room type of shower which spread water everywhere which was dangerous. The air conditioning is upstairs so you dont get the benefit in the... More

We arrived Amata on Jan 1st at 9am. The check in time is at 2pm. But we were well received by its GRO Mr Than Win Lay and team. Constantly apologizing for our long wait for our room to be ready, for it is a full house at its peak year end occupancy. 1. The Hotel: Unique lobby design. So... More

After staying 4 nights at the Thande Beach Hotel which we enjoyed, it was time to move on to Amata Resort on the same beach. Bad vibes from the beginning. The pickup from Amata was 15 minutes to late, a small detail but this is the first time someone was late to an agreed pick-up time in Myanmar (the hotel... More

We just left Amata after two great days with wonderful relaxing time at a beautiful beach resort! The GM, Aung San, was a fantastic host present all the time and ensuring all was well arranged and even offered his own Tablet hotspot when the Wifi was down during Changing of the years! The New Year's Eve food, drinks, entertainment program... More

It was my fifth visit to Ngapali beach and this time was our annual family Christmas beach trip. We stayed in Amata Resort for the first time. The room was very spacious and well-maintained. However, we felt that the room and the corridor were a bit overly decorated in comparison with other Ngapali resorts we had been previously. Although we... More

Do believe in advertisement? That was question in my mind after staying for 2 nights at Amata Resort & Spa star hotel. It was complete disappointment I would say! pictures and rating at internet was the convincing factor for choosing this hotel, but to utter disappointment. Why do I feel this way? 1) Rooms look grand, but TV still conventional... More
