This was a nice hotel in a great location on the beautiful Ngapali Beach. The room was nice enough although it was a little tired and smelt a little bit of smoke. The breakfast and other food was lovely and the sunset happy hour was great! However....We stayed over the new year period and were extremely disappointed with the disruption... More

Normally one can judge a hotel by the check in. Was welcomed with the usual drink and cold towel, but that is where the usual Myanmar hospitality came to a grinding halt. Two trips to the reception after check in did not solve the issue in hand.....a twin room that was not a twin. It was suggested that a blanket... More

This was our beach resort after a 3 week tour of myanmar, a loverly place to relax. The resort is set into a 5 acre lush tropical garden, has a infinity pool overlooking the beach, with plenty of sun loungers and umbrella's. Penty of choice but we did eat out for lunch and dinner, we like to go exploring. Fruit... More

The Beach is long and lovely. You will also meet locals stroling there which gives Amata an open and relaxed atmosphere. Make sure to try some of the fresh fruit that is peddled along it. The cottages are spacious, but not very sound proof. Clean and well kept. There were amenities like phone, safe, TV, WiFi (that didn't work in... More

On our first day we called in for a light lunch and to check out the dinner menu. The lunch snacks and sandwiches were sensibly priced and whilst the dinner menu looked good we were immediately put off by the music in the bar and pool area. We have walked past every day and the music can be heard from... More

Well located resort with good facilities and spacey rooms. Great breakfast and excellent clean and quiet beach Make sure that you will get your room confirmation upfront in order yo prevent to get a room in the backside of the resort next to road. Best rooms are on the 1st level.

Amata was not our first choice of hotel in Ngapali--unfortunately, as we were traveling during the Christmas week, our travel agency was unable to secure the first two hotels we had selected. As a third choice, Amata suited us just fine. We stayed in 2 beach cabanas. The rooms were comfortable, neatly outfitted with Burmese teak and sprayed down every... More

The very short summary is that the beach setting deserves five stars, but management has some work to do. We seriously considered giving this hotel three, even two stars at times. The main draw of the Amata is obviously the white sand beach of Ngapali, which didn’t disappoint. The resort is located along a beautiful strip of beach and there... More

Staff were friendly and always willing to help but the room we were given was a bit shabby. Perhaps if you stay in one of the cottages/cabanas then you'd get a better impression. We were in a "superior" room at the back of the resort near the business centre and the room was in need of some love - mucky/stained... More

the one lasting impression was that they only seem to own one record that is played constantly in the restaurant area. this limits the amount of time you want to eat there. besides from that, the rooms are very nice, and the location on the beach is great. reception staff are quite confused and unorganised - we couldn't pay by...
