Just spent 2 nights at the Elephant Crossing and it was very good. I was on the 4th floor and the room was very clean and the beds were great. Breakfast was good each day. And the location is good as well, only took 5 mins to walk to the centre of town. What was really good is the views... More

Just scraped a 2*!! The room was adequate but overpriced at £50. The room furniture is heavy so the feet need felt pads, sound transmission between rooms not good, squeaky doors next door! No hot water in the bathroom sink, no toilet roll holder! The shower water goes all over the floor - nothing there to retain it. Breakfast was... More

We stayed here while waiting for our room at Riverside. The hotel was adequate and was what was expected for the amount we paid. There was limited staff when we were there, even though we stayed very briefly. The hotel has a nice view of the river. Nothing spectacular, but nothing horrible either.

We had a deluxe room but it overlooked the car park!! We did hear someone in a standard room had a good view over the river so we were not to impressed. The room smelt damp and as it was cold when we were there this did nothing to add to the experience. The staff were slow in their understanding,... More

A very central place to various activities, elephant rides through the forest, waterfalls not to far, tempels and food in area good. The rooms were good had what was needed (air conditioning) a real plus, rooms were big and spacious, depending where your room was located you had a crappie view, but I was lucky to look out on the... I wanted to return to Vang Vieng and had such a nice experience with The Elephant Crossing Hotel last time that I thought I would stay there again. I don't know if it's because I was traveling on my own but this experience was different than when I was with a group. I booked my reservation on Agoda and the... More

Just a few hundred metres from the bustling centre of town, bars and restaurants. Peaceful and quiet. Wonderful views of the river and majestic karsts right in front of the bar and restaurant verandah. The hotel is keen to use local produce and employ people from local rural areas.; this it does very well. The standards of cleanliness, bed linen... More

The hotel itself is a little past its best with lots of things in the room not working very well, broken toilet seats, taps that swivel around and almost come off in your hand etc.etc. Also our room was extremely small and had nowhere at all to put anything away or lay things out - that meant ferreting around in... The hotel restaurant was right on the river with nice seating and a fireplace at night. An absolutely great buffet breakfast every morning with delicious fresh pineapple. The staff were really lovely, constantly refilling the food, drinks, plates and utensils. The dinner was also delicious, we loved the fried spring rolls, hokkien noodles, yellow and red curry and the chicken... More
