It can be pretty hard to find a cheap guesthouse in Vang Vieng. We paid 60 000 kips/night and everything was okay. We even stayed 2 additional nights. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They speak French and English. Because of the bar next door it's noisy until the curfew at 11pm. Not really a problem. Hot water. WiFi... More

Due to the 24 hour noise of the water tanks outside of the room, it was close to impossible to get a proper sleep in here. Otherwise, the location is good, the staff were friendly with us. The kebabs that they bbq out the front are really good too. Wifi was pretty bad but we found that to be the... More

We arrived in Vang Vieng late at night, unable to find a room during one of the busiest tourist times in Laos and spent the first night sleeping on the floor of a friend's room. After that terrible experience, we found this place the next day and thought our luck was changing for the better. Unfortunately not. We found it... More

For value for money we could not fault this place, we had a very small room but for the price we couldn't fault it. We loved waking early to watch the hot air balloons take off, they are very close to the spot they leave from. Only the son speaks English but he is eager to learn new words so... More

The start of the stay began with no hot water, had to go down to the lobby to the shower. Then the real problem occurred, the day our friend, staying in different room, stated that he went back to get his go pro and there was a man in his room trying to "turn off the fan's" for them...first red... We booked here for one night. During this time we found in our room many bugs including very big spider. The room wasn't so clean. In the next day we have checked different places and found many better places in chipper price. The family who run the place wasn't so friendly either.

I can honestly say this is one of the best guesthouses we've stayed in in Laos! We originally only booked for one night but ended up staying for 5. The man and wife who run it were lovely and the young boy who works there in-between school has excellent english and is one of the nicest people ive met in... More

Last week we stayed at Souksomboun Guesthouse. At first everything seemed to be oke, real good price for quite a large room. But after we went on a motorbike trip we came back and had the feeling someone went trough our bags. The next day we went tubing so we locked 2 of our bags and closed our backpacks. When... More
