Relocated here from a more centrally-located guest house and it was an excellent move. The area around Maylyn GH is great: lovely quiet gardens, birds and butterflies everywhere - and those fabulous mountain-backed sunsets. Stayed in a rustic wooden bungalow looking out across a small stream on to the karst mountains. The bungalow was fairly basic: fan, en-suite with good... More

We crossed over the river to the quieter, much nicer part of town. Farms, large guest houses with gardens and beautiful scenery. We had a guide book which led us to Maylyn Guesthouse. We were greeted warmly and were shown the different rooms available. We went with the en suite room down the back of the property, a maze of... More

The bungalows here are great. There are a variety of choices for all budgets- some with en suite, some with amazing views of the karst landscape, even some brick and mortar rooms with or without A/C. The bungalows are a bit more pricey than similar places in town, but the location makes it worth it. So much more peaceful and... More

We saw two options of accommodation, one is a bungalow and the other a big double room with private bathroom and spectacular views. It is a little way out of the "centre" but it was so worth it for the views and the peace and quiet. There are two bridges, the toll bridge which is a little closer to the... More

Absolutely lovely place with some authentic character. Immersed in beautiful scenery with stunning views and great food, all reasonably priced. Thanks for a great time Joe! I'll be back for sure. Conor

My wife and I are backpacking SE Asia and stayed here for 4 nights. It is a great guesthouse with excellent food at good prices. I could have stayed longer no problem. The owner is Irish and he has staff member from Holand helping to run things too, which made things easier. We stayed in the cheapest they had to... More

The Maylyn came highly recommended and we were delighted with our stay. The guest house is located across the river from the main part of town, so it's quieter which is nice. Wishy, Joe and all the staff are a crackup and take care of everyone's needs in a laid back way. This is a place to relax. Rushing, stressing,... More

Bungalows full on arrival we were offered a room in an adjacent house 20 metres away. Big clean room with en-suite bathroom. Joe and Wan are great hosts, Joe in full flow is a truly memorable experience. Excellent food and very chilled relaxed atmosphere, exceptional value for money, thoroughly enjoyed our time at Maylyn.

After being dropped over by the Old Market, we quickly decided that we wanted to get away from the hecticness of town, so headed across the bamboo bridge to Maylyn. We stayed in a large double room with ensuite in the new building, with a great veranda that had wonderful views of the karsts, all for 100,000. An incredibly peaceful... More

I happened upon this little piece of paradise accidentally. That seems to be my approach so far on my trip of SE Asia. The best plan is one that's open to change. The first face I met was that of Louies. He gave me a very friendly introduction to the guest house and answered all my questions accordingly. I stayed... More
