I booked the place because I liked its location -- walking distance to the restaurants yet away from the party noise. The upper-floor rooms do in fact have a great view, definitely a plus. However... there is a fair bit of construction going on around it, and they start very early (before 7am for sure), so don't expect complete quiet.... More

Booked this hotel due to a recommendation of a cyberfriend who also just visited Vangvieng prior to us. Husband and I found this hotel simple and fuss free. Footwearis not allowed inside the corridors so we were asked to leave it in the lobby. It did not sit well with me as I do not feel comfortable walking barefoot. But... More

Seven of us travelled on from Vientiane to Vang Vieng and stayed here at Vilayvong for 3 nights. No breakfast is  included in the rates. However, the hot and cold water machine in the common area can be very useful for your instant 3-in-1 morning coffee. The wifi is much better on the ground floor on the river side. Overall... More

Had a big room with views over the mountains, clean and neat with good maid service. Aircon was appreciated as was the TV for the regular Laos downpours! Good location a few mins walk from the "centre" of VV and far enough away to not be disturbed by the bars.

Nice clean guesthouse with large room and private balcony for one hundred thousand kip. You can't complain about that. The owners and staff were very nice. I went tubing twice and ended up getting out of the river near the hotel on both occasions and both times the hotel staff drove me to the innertube drop off point on the... More

The first priority for my trip is cleanliness. This place does not disappoint me. Then i move on to the location - i like the quietness that the hotel provide you so it should not be located in the centre. This guesthouse provides you exactly like what i ask for. Though it is not the best location by the river... More

For 100,000 kip per night (about 12 AUD) this place is excellent. Rooms are quite large with three beds. Tiled floors, OK bathroom, very clean, nice balcony with an incredible view of the river and the limestone cliffs behind. I think there probably would be a nice garden as well, but the river flooded just before we arrived, so it... More

Booked a bungalow, and they were washed out. Not much they could do abut that. Room we were given faced the river. Had a nice balcony and huge bed! Bathroom was a bit dingy. Breakfast was nonexistent, even though we paid for it.

Stayed in Vang Vieng for 3 nights in Aug 2010, backpacking trip visiting for the world famous tubing! Stumbled across the Vilayvong very much by accident but am very glad we did - it was fantastic. We had 2 two bedroom air conditioned rooms next door to each other - rooms had one single bed and one double bed, very... More

We stayed upstairs in the main building. We had a view of the karsts from the balcony and the side window. The hotel is in the quiet part of town - if you are not going to be out late partying, then I highly recommend you find a hotel in this area. It was only a short walk (~3 minutes)... More
