Do not stay here. Or if you do; do not use their "safety box" because the staff will steal your money from your safety bag. They didn't even care to fix things. Otherwise, the room was tolerable for two nights, if a few spiders or gang of ants don't bother you.

I stayed at Phoomchai for 4 nights and couldnt have asked for a better place in Vang Vieng. It is a little bit off the rowdy tourist area (10 Minutes walk, no problem), so it is really quiet and calm at night. Rooms are nice and clean and at 60.000(fan only, 100for AC), a great value. Really liked the two... More

We stayed in the phoomchai guesthouse for two nights and we enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had a a/c room for 100.000 kip and it was simple, but clean and big. It is located five minutes walk from the centre, so that was fine.

A great place and value just on the edge of the backpacker hustle and bustle. These little bungalows are spacious, clean, and have a front patio with a table and chairs. The price was super reasonable and the owner was great. He arranged to have motorcycle dropped off for us (no passport required) and made sure that our stay was... More

Phoom Chai has a lot of potential - quiet location off the main road but close enough to walk to all the shops, restaurants, etc. The gardens are absolutely lovely, and it's a fairly quiet location. The bungalows are spacious, especially the bathroom with plenty of hot water. However, there is hardly any furniture - a bed, a very small... More

Spent a few nights here while travelling Laos. The guy who runs the place is really friendly and at $20 a night the rooms are quite reasonable. Big rooms with Aircon and a fan. Bathroom is also big and windows are fitted with mosquito shields. It's a 10 minute walk into the 'lively' part of town and there are a... More

The rooms here are bungalow-style and are lovely, clean and comfortable. The hot shower is good. You get a balcony which is nice to sit on as the surrounding garden is beautiful. The wifi worked well in our room, we had a room close to the reception area so this might be why. The man who runs this place is... More

Phoomchai guesthouse is lovely, peaceful little bungalows around a garden. It is a little walk from the 'main strip' which is good, trust me. The owner was very helpful with arranging our bus. If we ever HAD to return to Vang Vieng, we would definitely stay here again.

This guesthouse has little bungalows in a garden. Rooms are clean, the bed is soft and the hot shower is the best we had in a while. In front of the bungalow is a little private terrace. Laundry service is good, but you can find cheaper in town. Same with the tours. Free tea, coffee and bananas. The only con... More
