It was our first time in Mauritius and our husband and I were with our four year old son. The hotel was superb, friendly, service was excellent, food was good especially the local catch of the day. We requested a room away from noise and enjoyed the walk to the restaurants and beach while still have a lovely ocean view.... more

We spent two weeks at Le Telfair over Easter and had a great time. The hotel had been recommended by a friend, but I had mixed expectations after reading certain reviews on tripadvisors... Well, no need to worry! But I do want do address some of the issues raised by other travellers for future readers: - kids' club: someone raised... more

I had a similar experience to the recent review with the electrical problem. I arrived with my wife and two young children from the UK at around 10pm. On arrival at reception, they claimed at first not to be aware of any booking by us even though our travel agent had emailed them recently requesting a cot for our baby... more

This was a third two-week visit to Le Telfair in as many years. We fell in love with it the first time and wanted to come back. We felt a slight decline in 2008 but it has now changed management and the result is truly impressive - this is a true 5-star hotel. The service level is very high indeed.... more

Two days before arriving at the Telfair they confirmed by email the 50% deposit the hotel had taken from my credit card. At arrival at 7 am on the 3rd of Feb the hotel was closed due to '.. an electrical problem..' An economic problem was more the case. We were offered an alternative hotel, at least two classes lower,... more

We definitely won't return to Le Telfair, the service is rubbish and extremely slow, nothing was done when they said it would be. We'd hoped to eat local fish and seafood but the food was very European with European 80's music in the restaurants... it was very strange eating breakfast in the gorgeous Mauritian sunshine whilst listening to George Michael!... more

We stayed at the Telfair for two weeks over the Christmas period and had a wonderful time. The hotel might not have an amazing WOW factor in its design but it is an extremely pleasant and relaxing place to be. Our preferred standard is Four Seasons which is setting the bar very high and this resort did not achieve this... more

We booked this trip as a last minute holiday after christmas on a half board basis. Which we thought would mean we wouldnt spend much when we were there - we were wrong! The drinks are very expensive, and although dinner is included the wine is very pricey and can easily add up. The hotel is stunning and there is... more

My partner and I have just returned from our first visit to Maritius and had a fantastic stay. Le Telfair is one of the best hotels we have stayed at (and we have stayed at many worldwide!) We travelled over for our best friends wedding and recieved the warmest of welcome from the staff. We were greeted with a drink... more

This is certainly a nice hotel, however they will try to squeeze every bit of remaining cash out of you while you're there. We went on a half board basis (Breakfast & Dinner) however be quick reserving a table for dinner, as when Annabella's gets booked out, and it does you will be required to dine at one of the... more
