We must not let the year end without a review of one of our highlights. Lewa Downs was the stunning setting for the start of our Kenyan holiday back in September. The camp was beautifully appointed around the main reception/bar dining building and well kept gardens and pool - a great attraction for the birds too. All the staff made... More

We spent 2 night here in late November. We had an absolutely wonderful time and Norman, our guide, was awesome. Not only was he great at pointing out all the stuff we needed to see, but he was also an epically cool person. So much fun! The food was BRILLIANT too and the hosts super friendly.

The camp is absolutely beautiful with pool and great garden as well as tastefully furnished and well appointed luxury safari tents. Food is very tasty and the camp caters for vegetarians. Run by Tam and Sasha, the camp's service is flawless. My wife celebrated her birthday and Tam organized a surprise bush breakfast which was truly memorable. The conservancy itself... More

A nice camp with charming hosts (Tamlin & Sacha), taking the time to chat with us and share their passion for the place. We enjoyed the surprise bush breakfast sitting just in front of the rhinos. The wines were excellent. The food was OK. The Wifi was very slow or not working (but who cares when you are on vacation... More

Thank you for your review and wonderful photos - especially bush breakfast - there are not many places where you are able to share your breakfast with three White Rhinos! It is a shame you were not able to visit the baby rhinos during your visit, but at least there is something to come back for! Warm regards, Sacha, Tamlyn... More

This was our last stop on a two-week safari trip to Tanzania and Kenya, and perhaps the best accommodations and truest safari expedition we had. Surrounded by a private conservancy (which happens to contain one tenth of the continent's white and black rhino population), we could do far more "off-road" excursions. Our guide Festus was not only astoundingly eagle-eyed in... More

Dear Nat, Thank you so much for your wonderful review, lovely to hear from you and hope the trip home went well. I stayed at Lewa safari camp with my girlfriend this September. I had been to many safari camps but this was her first time and it was the perfect camp to start off with! Lewa Safari Camp was our first of 3 camps during our 11-day tour of Kenya, and it was a perfect location to kick off the trip! Not only did we get great overall wildlife viewing, we got exposed to the conservation story of the Conservancy and its people. Having that perspective lent great insight during our next stays. The camp... More

The stay in Lewa Safari Camp was everything you'd expect of a safari, the game viewing is excellent and, of course, rhinos and cheetahs were the highlights while out on the conservancy. Inside the camp the habituated birdlife made morning coffee a delight. For me the most important part of Lewa Conservancy, though, is as a model for anti-poaching and... More

We returned from a trip of a lifetime in Africa, and spent 3 days in Lewa Safari Camp. Loved it! It is a small camp and the managers Sasha and Tamlyn were great hosts.
