Wonderful place to start our safari. Our rustic room was spacious and very comfortable – and we saw giraffes from our patio! A fire was started in the fireplace every evening when we returned. Coffee and tea was brought to our room each morning. Food was plentiful and delicious! All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Someone from security... More

What a wonderful place, I cannot fault it. The rooms are enormous and beautiful but blend into the bush perfectly, the staff are attentive, friendly and exceptionally skilled. There is so much wildlife to see and you are the only one viewing it. Lewa is a private conservancy so you rarely see other cars. It is also a huge draw... More

This was the first lodge we stayed at in a four lodge itinerary. What sets this lodge apart is its wealth of different activities and wonderful staff. Part of this is due to the fact it is partially the family home of the Craigs. Emma Craig spends a lot of time with the guests and shares stories of this remarkable... More

My first trip to Kenya, and what a place to start. Just the drive in from the airstrip was exciting and filled with wildlife sightings, including multiple rhinos. Lewa is a rhino conservatory, so you can see many of these guys! The accommodations were luxurious. We were in the newest one, #12, and it had everything: a patio overlooking the... More

We stayed at Lewa Wilderness for three nights on our honeymoon. An absolutely beautiful place. We had a great room with stunning views, though we spent so much time game viewing, horseback riding and hiking, that we were hardly there. The staff was terrific and the food, especially the curry on Sunday, excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a... More

Lewa Wilderness Trails was the second stop on our trip and a total surprise as we approached via the long dusty (and bumpy) track and arrived at a lush green camp. We were shown to Room 10 for our 3 night stay - wow...what a room (it was bigger than my house!!) - you have to see it to believe... More

Having just completed a personalized luxury safari to 5 locations in Kenya and Tanzania, we came home, and formulated some conclusions. All 5 locations were fantastic. But we did compile a rating, and Wilderness Trails was our #1. Our criteria were: quality of game viewing; quality of lodging; quality of food; quality of service; and overall ambience. All the game... More

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in June 2012 and loved it. The ride in from the airstrip was just the beginning of spectacular wildlife viewing. On the way in to the lodge we saw rhinos, giraffes and elephants, to mention a few. The accommodations are fantastic and reflect the native materials used in the bush. The... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in mid September. I was very, very impressed. This is our second trip to Kenya, first time to Lewa and I would go back, no question. I arrived at Lewa with a bit of a stomach problem which I had picked up in Rwanda. The staff bent over backwards to do... More

A special call out to our armed escort Rakita (sp?) who accompanied us on our walking and driven game viwing. Extraordinarily able to find and show us animals, explain their behaviors and willing to pass on his general knowledge of the bush. The staff service was fantastic and the welcoming owner/operators made us feel like family from the moment we... More
