What an amazing start to our three week safari adventure! In retrospect, No one in my family (husband, me and two teenagers) can imagine our visit to Kenya without our stop at Lewa Wilderness. Lewa has everything you could want in a safari destination. Since it is a conservancy and not a national park, the activities are much more varied... More

This property was a suggestion by my travel agent with Born Free Safaris, and I must say she really was spot on with Lewa Wilderness. Superb guides, beautiful bungalows and views, gorgeous property grounds, excellent food, delightfully warm staff, and lots of varied activities to choose from. A three-night stay is easily filled with all there is to do and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon stay at Lewa Wilderness Camp. From the expertly guided safari game drives to the meals with other guests and staff to the bush breakfast and the extremely comfortable rooms, we felt we our every need fully catered. Anyone looking for an upscale safari trek, we would recommend this place to anyone.

Wonderful place to start our safari. Our rustic room was spacious and very comfortable – and we saw giraffes from our patio! A fire was started in the fireplace every evening when we returned. Coffee and tea was brought to our room each morning. Food was plentiful and delicious! All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Someone from security... More

What a wonderful place, I cannot fault it. The rooms are enormous and beautiful but blend into the bush perfectly, the staff are attentive, friendly and exceptionally skilled. There is so much wildlife to see and you are the only one viewing it. Lewa is a private conservancy so you rarely see other cars. It is also a huge draw... More

This was the first lodge we stayed at in a four lodge itinerary. What sets this lodge apart is its wealth of different activities and wonderful staff. Part of this is due to the fact it is partially the family home of the Craigs. Emma Craig spends a lot of time with the guests and shares stories of this remarkable... More

My first trip to Kenya, and what a place to start. Just the drive in from the airstrip was exciting and filled with wildlife sightings, including multiple rhinos. Lewa is a rhino conservatory, so you can see many of these guys! The accommodations were luxurious. We were in the newest one, #12, and it had everything: a patio overlooking the... More

We stayed at Lewa Wilderness for three nights on our honeymoon. An absolutely beautiful place. We had a great room with stunning views, though we spent so much time game viewing, horseback riding and hiking, that we were hardly there. The staff was terrific and the food, especially the curry on Sunday, excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a... More

Lewa Wilderness Trails was the second stop on our trip and a total surprise as we approached via the long dusty (and bumpy) track and arrived at a lush green camp. We were shown to Room 10 for our 3 night stay - wow...what a room (it was bigger than my house!!) - you have to see it to believe... More

Having just completed a personalized luxury safari to 5 locations in Kenya and Tanzania, we came home, and formulated some conclusions. All 5 locations were fantastic. But we did compile a rating, and Wilderness Trails was our #1. Our criteria were: quality of game viewing; quality of lodging; quality of food; quality of service; and overall ambience. All the game... More
