This was our first stop on our African adventure and what a perfect place to start! The rooms, unbelievably comfortable and spacious. The food was top notch. The game drives were exciting and the animals were plentiful. We always saw something picture worthy. My family did not want to leave! Highly, HIGHLY recommended!!!!!

Solio Lodge is special! Kenyan hospitality, luxury bush accommodation and a very important rhino sanctuary. Importantly, everyone who stays at Solio is doing their bit to help... You become a conservationist for the black and white rhinos. Arriving at Nanyuki Airstrip we were greeted with the warm smiling face of Fred, who would be our driver for the next two... More

Overall: Stayed here as the first stop on our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. The lodges are beautiful, the customer is service exceptional, and the game drives are private. Wi-Fi is available in the main dining area which was nice, and the food…. scrumptious. If you want to go on safari but do not want to stay in tented... More

We stayed 4 nights at Solio and were so glad that we did. After some frantic days of getting up early at other camps, this was a nice change. We could sleep in and leave at 8:30 for our game drive and still see everything. Amos, our guide and Blackie, our spotter, were the BEST!! Such sweet guys and Amos... More

Thank you for your review, Solio's geographical location and temperature means that game are often out all day, as you mention you can have a well earned lie in when staying at Solio and still see all the wildlife you could wish to see. All the guides at Solio are incredibly knowledgeable and Amos and Blackie will certainly be pleased... More

Solio Lodge is the only accommodation located in Solio Ranch, a privately-owned game reserve geared towards rhino conservation. First off, Solio Ranch is beautiful: one of the most haunting and lush landscapes I've ever seen. The top-heavy acacia trees fall over and are left where they fall as animals use the deadwood--so these huge fallen trees are everywhere (as well... More

Thank you for your review, as you say the abundance of game is really quite spectacular at Solio, seeing both black and white rhino in such large numbers still amazes us. We will pass on your comments to Fred, he is a very knowledgeable guide and will be pleased to hear he that you were so impressed. The Safari Collection... More

My trip was arranged by the Safari Collection which owns several properties in Kenya. Although I also award top marks for Sasaab in Samburu, Solio Lodge presents a unique and special experience. Firstly, it is located in a private rhino conservancy which provides the luxury of viewing the wildlife without other vehicles racing to see what you found. The animals... More

I often include Solio as the perfect last stop after experiencing the great migration. The lodge is posh yet intimate and welcoming and the Solio team are some of the best in the business. Ava makes Solio a home away from home and the crew in Solio's excellent kitchen never disappoint. John, Ole and Fred produced rhinos, lions and leopards... More

Ava and her staff were great and our stay was heavenly, definitely a very comfortable safari for everyone of all ages and expectations. Game drives could be arranged short or long within the private park with rhinos (black & white), lions, leopards, water bucks, zebras, giraffes or even a wandering elephant! Or a day trip to the Aberdares seeing Giant... More
