Solio Lodge was the perfect way to begin a 12-day multiple-location safari. Ava and Hattie are gracious hostesses, and the property is warm and inviting The food is spectacular (be sure to ask Ava for recipes!). We felt very welcome in the lodge, and our twice-daily game drives with Ole were exciting, comfortable and very informative -- he is a... More

Ava and her staff were great and our stay was heavenly, definitely a very comfortable safari for everyone of all ages and expectations. Game drives could be arranged short or long within the private park with rhinos (black & white), lions, leopards, water bucks, zebras, giraffes or even a wandering elephant! Or a day trip to the Aberdares seeing Giant... More

My family and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Kenya. We traveled with Specialised Safaris and stayed for several glorious days at Solio !! Ava makes you feel right at home and the meals were delicious. I even left with some of her recipes in hand to try at home !! Our rooms were so comfortable and... More

It was truly satisfying to see the total security that these marvellous valuable animals exist in, but even better was the incredible luxury you stayed in. Ava and her staff delivered a very high standard, and the little bonus was the gorgeous bush baby who lives in the lodge. Wonderful stay !

To start out, my adult son Sam was quite sick and we almost did not make our flight to the nearby airport. The manager of the sister property to Solio (Giraffe Manor) called ahead to let them know one of our party was ill. We met our guide, Olly, at the airstrip. He was exceptional. He kept our game drive... More

We had an exceptional stay at Solio Lodge. This was the nicest place we have ever stayed, and we travel all the time all around the world, so that's saying a lot. The main reception and dining area is beautiful! It's huge, spread over three levels (top level has a small shop for handcrafts) with a massive fireplace and tasteful... More

Solio Lodge was the 3rd leg of my trip in October with friends, having already stayed at Giraffe Manor and Sasaab. Our stay was for 3 nights and with so many things to do at Solio we were determined to do and see everything which, thanks to Ivan we did. He was always on hand to advise us on how... More

Solio simply is a beautiful lodge in an environment offering an amazing variety of wildlife. Staff, food an accommodation are “The Safari Collection” style. Ava is a great host and tamed bush baby Marry-Ann a very special highlight.

Solio Lodge marked Part 1 of our Great Family African Adventure to mark 3 milestones - my wife's 70th, my 80th and our Golden Wedding. We travelled with our family - son, daughter-in-law, 2 grandsons (16 &13), granddaughter (15) and daugther. We had the most wonderful time at Solio Lodge. The standard of the accommodation, hospitality and food was 5*+.... More
