We stayed at El Rio Lodge last week for one night while passing through Zion. Yes, it's an outdated room - like stepping back a few decades. However, the service was nice - very helpful owners. The bed was more comfortable than you'd think, and you absolutely cannot beat the location - within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the... more

the pictures on the website and these reviews are very misleading. This place is disgusting for $89.00 per night. It felt like we were staying in someone's old dusty garage. So horrible we, left after 2 hrs, I get being out all day, but to come back to this was no choice. We preferred to stay at a cut B&B... more

We stayed in the family suite which worked out really well for us. The place is older so it was kind of like staying at a friend's old apartment. The price was good and the staff was friendly. I actually slept better there than at most motel/hotels because it did feel more homelike and less motel-ly. It's not fancy at... more

Very little room to put luggage or anything. Small closet. Such a small bathroom that toilet was almost touching wall - very difficult to sit, etc. Sink was plugged. We told the strange young man in the office (who didn't know the answers to any questions), and he didn't bother to tell anybody about the plugged sink. So we had... more

Stayed here as a family of 4 in July 2008 and were very happy with the location in town and the quality of the accomodation. It was our first stop on our tour of Nevada nad was perfect just to get our heads down after a long flight and then a drive up from Las Vegas. Reception was functional rather... more

We have just returned from a two night stay at El Rio. The location was good - a short walk to the bus to Zion. However I am sure you can find better accommodations. I did not like the roaches running around the floor. The toilet stopped up and the handle was broken. more

A group of 10 of us stayed for two nights in this fairly old motel-style accommodation. The rooms were adequate, and the location was excellent - very near the entrance to Zion National Park, and there's a free shuttle to the park that leaves every ten minutes or so from right outside the lodge. The lodge is close to various... more

If you are into budget traveling, and are there to see Zion, not hang out at the pool, this hotel is perfect. The rooms were older, and small, and our room had a weird sliding glass door. The stop for the bus into Zion is right outside, during the summer you cannot drive into the park. There is the option... more

I booked two rooms here for four because it was far and away the best price. The rooms are tiny. It's an okay place-- very simple. No breakfast. Location is in between all other hotels, motels, and B&Bs about 1.5 miles from Zion's west gate in Springdale. You could walk to many of the shops/restaurants if you wanted to. My... more

El Rio Lodge is one of the least expensive places to stay near Zion National Park. It is pretty good for the money; but there are certain problems. For one it could be cleaner. You are encouraged and have to run the tap for a loooonnnnnggg time to get any hot water. That is not acceptable in a desert location.... more
