We camped here the end of April as the valley was full. The campground itself is very quiet from road noise at night. There is no dump station at the campground. It is located along Forest Drive in the village. The village is about 1 mile away and there is no trail. If you walk, you must walk along a... More

I was originally disappointed when booking our campsite that we missed out on the locations up by Yosemite Falls, but after seeing the campgrounds I am so happy we ended up at Wawona! Wawona campground is much more quiet and secluded compared to the ones near Curry Village, the tent sites are more private, and the location can't be beat.... More

We spent the night here in September. There were a lot of young people and it was very noisy. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. And our place for tent and car was excellent. But we forget that the mountains around and at night it was very cold.

We had not made reservations as we were heading to another site but it was getting late. The park was helpful and found us an "emergency" site for overnight. Down side was we could not use our generator but two hours in the morning, two hours at lunch as two hours at dinner. No hook ups at all so a... More

This was our favorite campground in the park. It was quiet and away from the crowds of Yosemite Valley. (Upper, Lower and North pines campgrounds). We made last minute (one month) reservations and were easily able to get a site. All the campgrounds in the park are basic with no hookups, so if you have an rv, plan accordingly. We... More

Escape the hustle and bustle of Yosemite Valley at the Wawona Campground at the Southern end of Yosemite National Park! The campground is so much quieter and private than those in the valley. The South Fork of the Merced River flows by and is safe for swimming in the summer. If you want a riverside camp site spaces 37(B Loop),... More

We visited Yosemite for the first time two weekends ago and were happy we chose the Wawona Campground. The Yosemite Valley campgrounds where extremely crowded and tents seemed to be on top of each other with no privacy. Although Wawona is a 30 minute drive from the valley it was perfect for us. Site #40 was spacious with flat areas,... More

My husband and I camped here last weekend in site 81 in the C loop. This was our first time staying here. I was able to make the reservation only a week in advance online, which was very lucky since it was completely full aside from our site (so definitely book far in advance). The campground was busy and there... More

We stayed here four nights and had a very nice experience. Two things to note, this is Yosemite and you are lucky to get any kind of camping reservation and the other thing is it's a national park campground, which can mean lots of sites and not lots of privacy. However, this was a very nice campground and the scenery... More

We entered Yosemite by the South Entrance - so the only downer for us for this site is that it is just inside the southern gate which meant some back tracking for us. Although with such beautiful scenery not really a hardship. This is a well run National Parks site, the rangers were friendly and helpful and provided very clear... More
