Stayed for 2 nights in an RV. No hookups, but each site has a fire ring (no restrictions on fires as there is in Yosemite valley), but good, simple toilet and wash-up sinks. Good access, and great position beside the river with rocks and pools. Campfire talk each evening from the ranger - aimed primarily at the kids but quite... More

We stayed here for two nights for the first time in May. I wish I had come here sooner. The Valley is normally so crowded but Wawona camping was actually calm and connected with nature. I look forward to returning to this camp site.

I booked online $26 a night and drove 3 hours from Sequoia to Wawona. I took the NPS annual membership which is $80 and worth it if you visit a couple state parks in a year. Wawona, is a lager campsite and you can see the map online all the sites opposite the creek are the really shaded sights with... More

In our attempt to get a campsite in the valley, we ended up with a site at the Wawona Campground during the 4th week of June. We knew it would be a drive to get to the valley (about 45 minutes), and were somewhat concerned about the setup of the campground. Overall, we were very satisfied with our campsite. We... More

The camp ground is quite and calm in a scenic surrounding. It is very clean regarding the camping sides itself and the restrooms. The campground has tab water. However it is a bit off the beat, as one has to drive at least 30 min to reach the major sights. Also it's a bit off the shuttle bus track.

Wawona Campground is a bit more isolated. And that's a good thing and a bad thing. The bad thing is that it's more remote when going the Yosemite Valley. With our RV is was a 45 minute drive. You have to leave early if you want to arrive before the other crowds of tourists. The good thing is that it's... More

We camped here the end of April as the valley was full. The campground itself is very quiet from road noise at night. There is no dump station at the campground. It is located along Forest Drive in the village. The village is about 1 mile away and there is no trail. If you walk, you must walk along a... More

I was originally disappointed when booking our campsite that we missed out on the locations up by Yosemite Falls, but after seeing the campgrounds I am so happy we ended up at Wawona! Wawona campground is much more quiet and secluded compared to the ones near Curry Village, the tent sites are more private, and the location can't be beat.... More

We spent the night here in September. There were a lot of young people and it was very noisy. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. And our place for tent and car was excellent. But we forget that the mountains around and at night it was very cold.

We had not made reservations as we were heading to another site but it was getting late. The park was helpful and found us an "emergency" site for overnight. Down side was we could not use our generator but two hours in the morning, two hours at lunch as two hours at dinner. No hook ups at all so a... More
