After hiking a trail you come to ons of these camps that bring civility to the trail. The meals are wonderful and the beds are comfortable and warm. The view from the camp is amazing. It is a great place to rest after a day on the trail.

We loved it. May Lake was so beautiful. We slept well in the cabins, ate well, and woke up to nature at it finest. Our immediate family went along with family friends. The hiking was great. It was great having the hiking/camping experience without having to pack our food and tents along.

Breathtaking views, excellent food, wonderful staff! Met great people! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a Yosemite high country experience. Short, easy hike from parking lot to camp makes the camp fairly easy to reach. Fantastic experience!

This is the highest of the camps and the most spectacular. The staff is friendly and accomodating, the facilities are good, although there is no shower. Food was excellent. The hike up from Tuolumne is strenuous, but beautiful.

A group of 6 backpackers from Truckee, CA visited all five High Sierra Camps on the "meals only" plan and LOVED it. Not having to carry a bear canister and food made our packs lighter and, thus, made the hiking even more enjoyable. We did two lay-over days (one at Glen Aulin and one at Lake Merced). This gave us... More

In the past month, I visited both Vogelsang and Glen Aulin high sierra camps of Yosemite. There are 7 camps, May Lake, Sunrise, Merced Lake and Tuolumne Meadows too, but I've only done 2 of them, I did Glen Aulin once before 4 years ago. The locations of the camps are amazing, I highly recommend this way to see the... More

This was the last of the 5 camps for me to visit. It is a short hike from the trailhead parking (1.2 miles) and relatively easy. I took my wife (who does not like to hike very far) and other family members with me and we all enjoyed our stay. The views are outstanding and the staff is very friendly... More

The high Sierra camps are the best way to see yosemite. Fabulous setting, great food, fun interaction with fellow nature lovers. I only wish I had stayed longer! Makes the back country accessible to mere mortals.

Just got back from a 5 day Ranger guided High SierraLoop trip. Travelled with husband and 11 yr old son. We started at Tuolomne Meadows Lodge then hit Sunrise, Lake Merced (2nights) and Vogelsang. Loved the whole experience. We are day hikers, not campers or backpackers. Managed to whittle our stuff down to 17 lbs (11 yr old) to 25... More

The Yosemite High Sierra Camps are special gems. Each has its own character, due to staff, setting, and fellow visitors. I love that it is possible to be out in the wilderness, in the beautiful scenery of Yosemite National Park, but just carry a day pack with personal belongings and water (of course you should also be prepared with layers,...
