This was my first trip to Yosemite in quite some time and normally I would camp, but I received an email with a screaming deal for a room at the Wawona. I wasn't sure about the European style rooms and having to share a bathroom/shower with everyone, but the facilities were beautiful and clean. The Wawona is a short distance... More

Wawona hotel was a treat. We stayed here for one night right when it opened for the season in April 2014. It's located near the entrance to the park with the big sequoias. Those beautiful trees are a must-see!! Take the time to go to the park and walk amongst them on foot. The pros of the hotel: If you... More

Very disappointed that it was closed...................The structure was very interesting and brought back lots of memories. It has lots of character and appeal. It is too bad that is was closed and we could not go inside.

Well this Hotel is an old mountain resort. The room are creaking, as are the beds. The doors hardly open or close - the locks are ancient. They play the "Rustic card" to avoid updating the hotel. The prices, however, are very modern(expensive). The bathroom is outside the rooms. There are black bears outside also. The best thing about this... More

A very beautifull historic hotel in the Yosemite park. The rooms are small and simple. It feels like you are on a campingsite. Romantic, but not luxury! Shares bathrooms by example but very clean. Nice Facilities like golf, a swimmingpool and tennis. Also a restaurant. But the restaurant is a little overpriced. When you want to see the park and... More

I stayed in a shared bathroom room on a 30 degree night in mid October. Rooms had a bed, a sink and lots of blankets. The shared bathroom required a walk outside in the cold, but was clean, though no soap/shampoos are offered. Wifi is only offered in the common room, and the hotel is not located within cellular range.... More

Pleasant weekend with the granddaughters - we hiked, played board games, and read by the fire. We didn't miss the TV or the radio. I will make this a yearly event and hope the girls will build great memories.

Yes, the Wawona Hotel has rooms with en suite toilet and bath. Who knows, they may even have telephones and WiFi in those "new" rooms. I will never find out, because I always ask for a room in the original, historic building. It's the place to be for a true Wawona experience, the oldest building in Yosemite National Park. My... The place was good however no TV or radios, lighting in bedrooms very dull hard to read a book with older eyes. Food in dining room was okay, not the best for the cost. Wine list reasonable with good drinkable wine.
