This hotel has old charm, and the restaurant had really good food. We ended up paying quite a bit more to get our own toilet and shower. So well worth it considering its a community bathroom after that. Opens at 530pm and everything shut down at 930pm. No phone signal, but you can go into the lounge and use their... More

I reserved a room at this hotel for my husband's birthday and we were both excited to be staying here. On the morning that we were supposed to arrive we received a call from the hotel saying that there was a problem with our room (the place is old) and that they would upgrade us to a nearby hotel; Tenaya... Located in Yosemite National Park and originally built in 1879, the Wawona is the essence of a historic hotel. We stayed in the annex which was billed as state of the art when it was built n the early 1900's. This is a difficult review as the hotel remains true to its roots, is quite expensive in season yet is... More

This 'hotel' does everything it can to make you feel uncomfortable. Firstly on check-in they read a massive list of rules to you & make you sign a waiver for $1000's of dollars to ensure you understand its your responsibility to empty your car of everything (EVERYTHING - even empty water bottles) incase of bears. We were then informed of... More

This was the third time I stayed in this wonderful spot. The environment is fantastic, and the hotel is that too! Don't excpect the boutique hotel or conference hotel with all amenities, just enjoy a place in which you step in another era. It is old and I don't know how they did, but they managed not to change things.... More

The bathrooms were more spacious and clean than I had expected. The grounds were scenic and charming. Fellow guests were really polite, many of them from other countries. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our stay was really relaxing. I highly recommend the Wawona Hotel!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in June 2015 as part of our 25-night road trip through California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. We were in room 206. Having done our research on tripadvisor and elsewhere, we had booked nearly 10 months in advance and paid a rate per night of $175.10 including taxes and $1 per person... More

We loved staying at the Wawona. At first we were disappointed that we could not get a reservation in Yosemite Village. But once we got there, we were glad. Yes, it's about a 30 - 45 minute drive to some of the main attractions. But Yosemite Village is crowded with people and traffic jams. We enjoyed hiking during the day... More

If you want the latest tech, mod cons and air conditioning, go somewhere else. If you want a great example of how to retain a period property and experience the beauty and splendour of Yosemite, stay here. It's a little way out from the village but the drive is only 45 minutes or so, in any case it's nice to... More

Excellent historic hotel with attractive, but small, rooms. Great restaurant on-site. Nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of the valley but still in the park. Great to sit on the porch and watch the beautiful, natural setting.
