We stayed here during a weekend trip to Yosemite. The location couldn't be faulted, it was absolutely phenomenal! The camp is located in the centre of the park and many of the walks can be reached on foot. The camp is incredibly basic. There were just two beds, a light and a mirror in our tent which were all in... More

We stayed there for 2 nights. A typical Amercan camping place. Nice athmosphere. Good price. Positive points: nice location, cheap, good organised, ultimate camping experience Negative points: very cold (even in May), the blankets are not enough (you have to have a sleeping bag which we didn't have :-)), a lot of noise, our tent didn't close properly, not a... The housekeeping camp is really a funny place. may be not cheap, but one of the cheapest within the national park. best is to bring your own food but keep in mind the bears and those guys will smell your food and maybe visit you, your tent or your car. so be carefull and prepared and use the bearbox in... What can I say about housekeeping camp to prepare you, it’s in a beautiful location, staff are helpful all camping amenities are available. I have camped many times and I am not the world best outdoor camper, I hate creepy crawlies and the thought of bears coming to eat me at night, is not my idea of fun. But being... More

You get a 'cabin' with concrete walls and floor, and canvas roof and front flap, with basic beds, mattresses and bear-proof lockers. The cabins are set in blocks, so you are on top of your neighbours a bit. There's a fire-pit too, which was fun. It's cold when the sun goes down (which in the valley is quite early). You... More

Fun way to explore yosemite. Its super close to gocery store, its in the yosemity valley. Me and my fds went there, we hike in the morning and had campfire at night. Bring some bear, food to BBQ, super awesome!

Waking up to the birds singing and the beautiful views of half dome, feeling part of nature because you are right in the middle of it! H.C. was the best way if experiencing Yosemite Tents very spacious with nice outside area and table. One of the best things was to be able to have a fire at night, one of... More

I admit I dismissed the bad reviews of this place as we do a lot of wild camping and I don't mind roughing it at all and reckoned too many people were being too precious. We had tried to get the higer camps but they were closed in October. In fact I was impressed with the idea of a camp with a... We spent 2 nights at housekeeping camp. What a lovely way to see the national park. Waking up with the squirrels trying to steal every single crum of Breakfast in the morning, and dreaming away by the firepit overlooking the river at dusk. We came unprepared, but the camp provides everything- from pillows to firewood.
