Perfect campground for sightseeing the valley before going on Tioga road. Its 30-minutes-drive from the valley itself makes it less crowded than the other lodging. Spots are kind of secluded, in the shade of trees and never too far from restrooms or dumpsters. We stayed in spot #36 which is not very flat but far from the entrance so pretty... More

This place isn't the best, but it was the best that I could get on the short time frame that I had. It is around 30 minutes away from Yosemite Valley so you have to drive for quite a ways before you get to see anything in the morning. The roads in the campground are not great and parking is... I had spot #30. I loved it. 29 and 31 were good as well. Flat for the most part, not too far away from the bathroom but far enough away. The dumpsters were kind of close and can be noisey early in the morning, but get up, start your day! It was kind of private as the campground is quite... More

We've stayed in this campground for the majority of visits over the last 30 years. It is beautiful! Some of the sites are a bit sloped, and you might want to get some advice on the best tent sites before you go tent camping, but it has always been my favorite campground to stay in. Not as crowded as the... More

The campsite itself was fine--although being one of the first sites in the loop we had a bit of a walk to the restrooms. The distance itself would not have been a problem, but we had to walk through other visitors' campsites to get to the restroom. Our greatest disappointment was the length of the drive to the Valley. I... More

My family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children) stayed here in early June. We reserved campsite #42 because of someone elses review on here. It looked like one of the best spots on the campgrounds. The sites are close together but our site was near the meadow area so we didn't really feel too crowded. The people were good about... More

I would never stay here again. I camped here with a group. The group sites were full, and they spread our group across multiple, not-connected sites even though some connecting sites were empty. The campsites are so close together, though, that some can only be accessed by walking through others. The biggest two problems, though, were: 1) Most tent sites... More

Almost all camp sites on the perimeter of the loop are on a hillside. There are few level spots to pitch your tent. You are also stacked on top of other campers. This wasn't much of an issue until 8 campers rolled in at 3 in the morning and set up camp. They then proceeded to do shots and carry... More

We had a hard time getting reservations in the park and this was our last choice, but at least we got a spot. If you do camp here, try to camp on the outer edge. When you are in the middle, you are practically camping with other people you are so close, plus, lots of people walk through your camp... More

My son and daughter-in-law are experienced campers but this was my first time tent camping. Somehow my son got a reservation just a week before we visited Aug. 3; probably a last-minute cancellation. Site 92 had a gentle slope for the tent and the campground host's trailer was just across the road, the bathrooms were close, and surrounding campers all... More
