We stayed here for two nights and it really was a great campground. Very much in the park and in the forest which was nice as it meant we had a lot of shade. We had a couple of great fires and friendly chats with other camping neighbours and no problems at all. Recycling is available as are plenty of... More

Our site (219) was nice, spacious and quiet, thought not very flat. The even site are the better ones. There is not much wood around, so if you want to make some fire you should probably get some wood before you get there. Bathrooms are good, thought not very clean. No showers.

This campsite was in a great location and great setting. We went on a weekend so it was full but we made our reservations a few months in advance. I would suggest to do this so you can get a good campsite. You would want to stay on the outter campsites in order to have more privacy. We stayed in... More

First off Crane Flat campground is anything but flat so be prepared to pitch your tent at an incline. We had site #436 where we had a choice of either pitching our tent in the exposed hot sun or on a slope, we chose a slope. The campsites are small and you are practically in your neighbors face, there was... More

This is the second time we have camped at Crane Flat. It is perfect "middle ground" for the entire park. Most websites and books recommend even numbered sites 502-522 for tent campers. My take on the best and worst tent sites: Best: We booked 504/606 for two families and they were great sites - big and flat so we had... More

Crane Flat is a little bit of a drive from the valley but its quieter and a little more private. There are bear lockers at every site and you should put all food and anything with a smell in there when you are not using it. This is a good size campground but we never felt like it was too... More

We stayed here one night. There are toilets and sinks, no showers though there are pay ones somewhere else in the park that we could have sought out if we were staying longer. The site was spacious and we didn't feel crowded despite the number of sites in this large campground. Privacy was adequate and the site was actually very... More

I was in the 400 loop at the same time of the previous reviewer, and did not hear "Party Central" . Of course, this is a large campground, and Crane Flat, is not flat, so that may be the reason for the sound not carrying to my campsite. I found the Rangers and staff to be friendly, and notice Law... More

Okay so maybe we were spoilt because last year we stayed in the valley at Upper Pines but our biggest issue with Crane Flat was the gradient of our pitch - we had several attempts at parking our 30ft RV and in the end I slept in the bed the wrong way up just so my head wasn't hitting the... More

Maybe its my fault that I went there in prime season but it is simply one of the worst sites I have ever been to.It was full, noisy and unkept. There was nothing I could call level which meant I kept sliding down in my tent all night. The bathroom was filthy. I will never camp there again.
