We booked 2 weeks before our trip and this campsite was the only site available inside yosimite. The location was 20 minutes from the ground floor. the campgrounds were very clean and the bathrooms were also clean. There are hiking trails inside this campground and there's a gas station and market across the street . I would stay here again

This is a very nice campground, low key and most importantly - away from the Valley. When I say away, I would say that it is about 30-40 minute drive from the Yosemite Visitor Center. Therefore, less crowded, less phony visitors and more nature lovers. As several of the previous reviews mentioned, the tent campsites are reasonably private (RV sites... More

This was my first camping experience. We had couple of campsites at Crane Flat. Note: there is no flat terrain here, it's all hills. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The campsites are well maintained and have a good distance from one another to give good privacy. There is a proper restroom at the campsite and a convenient+gas station right opposite. The... More

We ended up at this campground through a friend's reservation so didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! It's about 30 mins from Yosemite Valley and at a higher elevation. Campsites are spacious and surrounded by beautiful trees and meadows. It's very quiet and relaxing. There aren't any showers but the bathroom facilities are clean and there is... More

I found out about Crane Flat campground (stayed in the 100-loop) when a friend booked the site for Oct 2014. I returned in Aug 2015 with friends and stayed at site 504. I really like Crane Flat for the following reasons: 1) it's away from the crowd in the valley (the sites are more spacious, and no. screaming. kids.) ,... More

This place is great. You need to reserve and look at the pictures online to see your site. There are some issues with getting a level spot. There is a bathroom and bear proof containers. There is a sink in the bathroom , and a faucet and place to wash dishes and dispose of grey water. Although we had warnings... More

We enjoyed two nights at Crane Flat. We booked site 312 which is off the 3rd road once you enter the campsite. That site is relatively flat. Two of us were in a small campervan, the other in a small tent and it was easy to find flat enough areas to sleep well. The toilets flush, there were only 2... More

Only 3 bad things about this campground: 1)FILTHY bathrooms! They had toilet paper and trash strewn all over and no one ever came to clean until the last day (we were there 3 days). 2)apparently people just leave whatever they don't want and no one comes to clean up. We saw a set of chairs that were left behind by... More

I loved camping at Crane Flat. The campsites are relatively big so you have plenty of room. You can also gather your own firewood and there a lots of fallen trees from which to gather chunks of wood. An ax would be helpful but we didn't need one and found lots of wood from gathering it on our own (although... More

We booked site #536 in early August. We loved it there and would book the same site again without hesitation. Bathrooms: we weren't right next to them (thank goodness) but could easily walk to two different ones that were fairly close and far exceeded my very low expectations--they were clean. Remember, there are no lights and no soap, so plan... More
