First, the good. The people who run Cozy Bear are nice and welcoming. The location is great--close to all the major stuff to see in Yosemite. Basics were also met, meaning the sheets and towels were clean, etc. Beyond the basics, however, Cozy Bear Cottages were a disappointment. My objections are as follows: *Cleanliness a problem. The cottage was dotted... More

We recently stayed in Little Bear cottage owned by Neal and Carole and it suited our needs ideally. You are quite a way from civilisation so you have to take food and supplies with you but it is a lot lot closer than some places advertising as being in Yosemite. It is a 40 minute drive to the valley floor... More

It's been a long time since our stay so I'm a little fuzzy on details...but I remember the owners being really friendly and the location being excellent. Lodging in Yosemite is always kind of a crap shoot. Oakhurst is just too far away IMO. Oakhurst hotels will say they're only 20 minutes from the park...what they don't say is that's... More

SUMMARY: My wife and I stayed one night at the Cozy Bear Cottages in a unit called "Little Bear" in October 2014. The accommodations were wonderful, the owners were extremely nice and helpful, and the location was perfect. I highly recommend staying at the Cozy Bear. -----DETAILS----- LOCATION: The Cozy Bear is located in Yosemite West, a small community that... More

We (two couples - sisters and BiLs) stayed at Cozy Bear South over Labor Day weekend, and it was a very good choice. The location is excellent. Although nothing is really close or easy to get to in Yosemite, this cottage was a relatively easy drive to both Glacier Point, where we went for a ranger talk and spectacular sunset,... More

We booked our accommodations late to Yosemite and were fortunate enough to get this vacation rental. The location alone is worth staying there. You are minutes from the road to Glacier Point and a reasonable drive North to the Valley and South to Mariposa Grove. We stayed here 3 nights. The rental is part of a duplex. There is a... More

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at this cottage for 2 nights. This house had an excellent location, with a close drive to Glacier Point, Tunnel View, Yosemite Valley and Wawona. The rooms were not large, but very comfortable. There were 2 sets of queen beds and 1 twin, 1 bathroom, A small kitchen with everything you need for cooking. There... More

Neil and Carol were unbelievably gracious and generous during our stay and helped us avoid near disaster. First, Neil was helping us bring our bags in when he saw my handicapped mother struggling up the stairs. He consulted privately with Carol and came back a few minutes later with an offer for us to stay in a unit below theirs... More

We loved our stay here. Loved it. We stayed in the Lil Bear cottage and the location is wonderful. It was so quiet at night and it was far from the commotion in the Valley. The cottage itself was outfitted for us to cook dinner both nights and find everything we needed. It was clean, which pleased me because rentals... More

Me and my wife spent three nights at Cozy Bear in mid-June 2013. We had a wonderful stay. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped. Everything was very clean. There was also a nice living room at the bottom floor with a TV and a DVD player, but we never used it. Apart form eating and sleeping, we... More
