We just spent 3 nights here last weekend and although I won't say I disliked it, I can't say I liked it either. The campground itself is set in the sheer beauty that is Tuolumne Meadows. However, if you're looking for more activities, my suggestion would be to stay closer to Yosemite Valley. Our campground was great (E11) but it... More

We spend one night there in June. Staff was very friendly. We had a nice spot with trees. At nighttimes we heard some animals and at daytime we even saw them just a few meters away from us. The bathroom facilities were quite a bit to walk in comparison to other camprounds in that area, but still ok. There is... More

We stayed here for 2 nights just after the Labor Day weekend. It was still very busy. We were in the H section which is nice and quiet, but the downside was that it was a long walk away from the river which is the spot you want to be in the later afternoons. Also, the bathroom facilities in this... More

The only real problem is that we didn't stay longer! Although we really needed to stay somewhere with a shower by that point so had to leave. The campground is great, everything you hope and expect from a National Park camground. We were right at the very far end and it didn't upset our stay at all. Toilets are clean... More

I stayed at this place whilst on a road trip across the country so it was hardly my first experience with campgrounds. Before that we stayed at 5 different campgrounds in various national parks so we knew the average standard and prices. There was so many things wrong with this one, that made it not worth the money at all.... More

I'd return in a heartbeat! Tuolumne Meadows is simply stunning: An alpine meadow surrounded by High Sierra Peaks a short distance from the very visible Sierra crestline. Trails go up, they go down, and a few let you walk for miles on essentially flat ground. Flat, though, doesn't mean boring. We took a day hike along the John Muir trail--about... More

The best part of the Tuolumne Meadows Campground is that it is located so close to the meadows, one of the most beautiful parts of Yosemite, that many people don't explore. The location makes watching sunset on the meadow and being able to walk back to your campsite. Given the altitude mornings can be a bit cold even in the... More

If you want to avoid the masses down in Yosemite Valley (as we did) the Tuolumne Meadows is your campground of choice. Spectacular surroundings (lakes, rocks, trails), nice spots under pine trees, interesting people. The only drawback is that it is quite full and busy in summertime.

My positive comments relate to the setting, not the campground. Tuolumne Meadows is a gorgeous area. As others have mentioned, the area is less crowded than Yosemite Valley (about 1.5 hours away). The scenery is different than the valley, unique in its own way. The campground is situated on a gentle slope in a great location for hiking, climbing, etc.... More

I LOVE Tuolumne. We've been 1 week a year for the past 5 years. This was the 1st place I camped at Yosemite & was in awe at the beauty and serenity of this place. We drove down to the valley once & it was not our style- very crowded & touristy. I love the isolation in Tuolumne because it... More
