The perfect mix of outdoors and comfort! It's fun to sleep in a tent-cabin - wood fires in the morning and the shared bathroom make it unique. I love being so close to the pristine Tuolumne River that I can hear it while lying in bed.

Great launching point for altitude acclimation before hiking around the terrific high country. But they gotta get rid of the wood burning stoves! They stink, they choke, they spoil the view, they are dirty, they are too hot then run out of fuel just when you need the heat. Replace with propane heaters and it would be a HUGE improvement.

tent cabins; family style dining with interesting people. Tuolumne Meadows is much less crowded than Yosemite Valley. I'd always prefer to stay in the high country, with great day hikes available. A great place!

We decided to spend a night at Tuolumne meadows lodge in order to more easily accommodate our plan to horseback ride and fit in hiking time. We had a great room at stone man lodge in Curry Village but a 100 mile round trip to go to Tuolumne meadow seemed crazy. We made reservations to stay at Tuolumne Meadows. The... More

Rooms are rustic but the surroundings can't be beat with a huge array of day hikes many of which you can start from the Lodge itself, with shuttle buses taking you to trail heads that are more far afield. At night dine in the lodge and share stories with other travelers from around the US and even the world. Overall,... More

All the staff here are incredible, friendly and very helpful. We arrived after dinner had finished for the night but a lovely staff member still went and got us hot drinks from the kitchen and cutlery so we could make our own food. They also gave us great directions to the hot springs an hour away which made for a... More

Spend time in Tuolumne Meadows, a magical natural wonder. Enjoy Hot showers, Delicious meals and a soft bed in a warm tent cabin all provided by an enthusiastic staff. A lodge pole pine forest perfumes the air. birds sing and the river splashing on rocks makes a peaceful sound. Stars shine brightly in the dark night sky. This is a... More

The place is clean and comfortable, although beds could be a little bit better. The staff is very friendly and they attended promptly and kindly our requests. Because of the bears, they do not have a place in the premises where you can cook your own meals. However, they have a restaurant (although it was a little bit expensive for... More

Great getaway camping location, but don't come for the wi-fi, come for all the beauty around this camp. Plan to disconnect for a few days. But if you must reconnect, visit nearby Lee Vining or visit the main lodge on the valley floor. DO NOT miss the short 15 min flat hike to TWIN BRIDGES.

A good way to start and end a high country backpacking trip, as well as a very pleasant choice for an outdoors vacation with family. The tent cabins are very comfortable, the Franklin stoves are admirable, the food is very good, and the opportunities to enjoy nature - hiking, swimming, taking photographs, listening to knowledgeable Park Rangers - abound.
