I had seen pictures of the park and this hotel but none prepared me for the beauty of the place. The room was obviously built many years ago but everything worked well including the air conditioning and t he bed was very comfortable. You knew you were at this hotel in all the public spaces. The Restaurant was spectacular but... More

We stayed at Ahwahnee last week and found it to be very good. The hotel itself has great service and hospitality. The room was clean and tidy, although a little dated. The hotel has so much history, and you really couldnt ask for a better location! We'd absolutely stay there again

We travelled to Yosemite in June 2012 as part of a fly drive trip around California. We stayed in many different locations and Yosemite had been recommended by many friends and family. Yosemite itself is breathtaking. The hikes, trails and sights are beyond compare. The wildlife and the attitude of the park staff is brilliant. We would strongly recommend to... More

Rooms are a bit small, at least to us, but the place is magic. From the pool or the terrace you face the mountain and it is just beautiful. You feel all the history of this hotel which is perfectly integrated into the landscape. We had dinner and breakfast there as well; nothing revolutionary but it was good.

The Ahwahnee is the most beautiful in the winter. Traveling with my sister and her family we go to Yosemite twice a year and stay, hike, sight-see and take in all the glorious wonder of the magnificent area. It is full of breath-taking views created by Mother Nature. The hotel is a jewel as if you were transported into years... More

This hotel is incredibly expensive and incredibly bad. I have travelled and lived all over the world with my family and have seen all sorts but I would be hard pressed to find such a depressing place to stay anywhere else. If I wanted to stay in a hostel then I would pay for one and save myself several thousand... More

We stayed at the Ahwahnee for four nights in August. Having stayed at many other national park lodges and other historic hotels, we knew not to expect a modern, up to date hotel and a room with all the luxurious amenities that other expensive luxury properties offer. But we did find what we were hoping to at this hotel. While... More

We spent 3 days at the Hotel. The room was spacious and very comfortable, but the view from the window was out of a postcard . We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The atmosphere in the dining room is worth a visit. The service was excellent but the food was average for the price. The location of... More

But that is not necessarily an upper league. Just do not compare the Ahwahnee to up market hotels elsewhere for comparable rates: the Ahwahnee will lose.....but still it is totally unique in its location, offering and history. We stayed at the Ahwahnee many times (at least 6) in spring, summer and fall and enjoyed most of those visits very much.... More

This lodge was one of the nicest we've stayed in in the national parks. Lots of history. Great views. Great location. Great amenities. Comfortable beds and rooms. We ate in the dining room and had a wonderful meal.
