I love the Ahwahnee. It is expensive, and the rooms are old fashioned and nothing special, but the place is set in paradise and it oozes charm and history - and it is just a wonderful decadent treat to stay here. Have a dinner in the big dining room and you feel like you are in an old movie. The... More

This a is great, quite and peaceful hotel in the mist of the hustle and bustle of Yosemite Valley. Book in advance as this hotel has a limited number of rooms. I stayed in a classic room. It has 2 double beds and a 1 person pull out sofa. A rollaway bed was an option, if needed. The bathroom was... More

The building is beautiful. We stayed in a cottage, 2 double beds my 13 yr old loved the bed to himself but 2 adults in a double bed "TOO SMALL' they were soft but rolled into the middle. We didn't get a fantastic night sleep so we could be well rested for hiking all day. Apart from that room was... More

This is the "best hotel" in the park but yes it needs to up it's game. It's not cheap but there are some places you have to stay (eg Raffles in Singapore) purely for the history and this is one of them. It is faultless in terms of location and atmosphere but the owners need to be aware that service... More

Mixed feelings about finally staying at Ahwahnee after years of watching it on travel shows about Yosemite. It's a beautiful place but kind of reminded me of another era, perhaps a rather stuffy era. This is the place to take your significant other for a signature romantic weekend in Yosemite. If you want an active Yosemite stay - hiking, biking,... More

We were upgraded from the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls due to overbooking, so I'm not sure about the room rates at this hotel. The building is very impressive and it has a great classic feel to it. The magnificent dining room is wonderful, and the people in reception were helpful and got us a room before the official check-in... More

When we visited Yosemite, we stayed several days at the Ahwahnee. It was a great place to stay. The hotel was first class in all areas! It even has a pool. Looking out at the meadow each morning was a real treat!! We walked trails all over the valley...never needed our car at all. The staff was wonderful and so... More

The Ahwahnee is an unbelievable property and the location and views can not be missed, but as a repeat customer, they seem to be gliding on location in a few areas. The common areas inside and out are fantastic and are why you want to go there. Sitting outside on a summer night with the hotel lite up and the... More

Myself, my husband and 15 year old son, stayed here in June of 2013. We were in Yosemite for a few days and stayed at different properties to get the feel oft hem all. The Ahwahnee was a must do, because I stayed here as a child and it is so historic, so I wanted my family to experience it... More

Splurged to stay at the Ahwahnee, but budget constrained us to one room. Stayed in a "classic" two double beds room, with pullout couch. Pleasant surprise that all 5 of us (2 parents and 3 teens) not only survived but were all very happy. The great public spaces offered fabulous escapes for all from the usual family squeeze into a...
