This hotel is so much better than anything else in Yosemite Valley that there's really no comparison. You do, however, pay for the experience. For me, it was worth it, and I plan to go back in the Spring. Check your own budget then make your decision based on your own feelings of cost vs. benefit.

Now don't get me wrong, this hotel is in an amazing location, and I mean amazing. And the original structure of the building is amazing, and I mean amazing. But what on earth have DNC done to it? It's getting tatty and is clearly not having any money spent on it, the staff are ground down and tired and everything... More

Hotel nestled in the Yosemite valley with sheer granite walls and easy access to the free Yosemite shuttle, with access to the entire park, and hiking trails. Very expensive and delicious restaurant on site. Service was spotty and food was not up to the price but eating in this setting is terrific. Breakfast buffet was nice, but very expensive. Room... This hotel has been talked up to be an iconic place to stay. Well the location is stunning but the hotel is tired and the dining and bar staff are also tired. They were downright rude in some instances and downright incompetent in others and so falsely polite it was laughable - and laugh is what we did. It was... More

Good morning KFB1951, Thank you for taking the time to post your frank review of your recent stay with us. I am disappointed to read that you felt that we were a "complete joke" and you found the staff to be "patronizing." These are certainly not words we want any guest to use to describe us. I am hoping you... More

Our stay was divine and we wished we could stay longer. But if you are planning an event at the Ahwahnee, be forewarned that even if you ask for a private room, it won't be private. Our event was booked at the same time and in a room with no barriers between us and a wedding next door. We were... More

Although expensive, the Ahwahnee was well worth it! Staying there allowed great access to the park and a retreat from the chaos of the crowds. We have stayed in lodges at Yellowstone that cannot compare to the quality of the Ahwahnee. The restaurant was good but not excellent. The hotel could use an extended menu at the casual bar and... This was our first trip to Yosemite, and I'm glad that we waited this long because I'm not sure I'll even be impressed as much by anything else. We came in over Tioga Pass, which is amazing and somewhat scary at the same time. The drive through the park from the back side had some of the most spectacular scenery... More

Fantastic is to modest a word te describe the general impression you get at the Ahwahnee. Class and old time luxury creating a peaceful atmosphere. Only one big negative point is the VERY poor wi fi quality.

Firstly, let's get this straight - Yosemite National Park is a brilliant place to visit and we had three great days in the park, hiking and doing the trails - these are experiences that you will never forget. Now onto the hotel, I agree that it is truly a beautiful building and the public areas are grand and frankly special... More

Good afternoon BigTusker, While I am very happy to read that you found Yosemite itself to be a brilliant place, I too am disappointed that you didn't enjoy you Ahwahnee stay. It is always our goal to provide an experience that rivals the magnificent surroundings of Yosemite, I am very sorry we failed you. Having no one to greet you... More

We loved everything about the historic and charming Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite....the fabulous Yosemite surroundings, beautiful well appointed accomodations and food was excellent and service was friendly and amazingly prompt! I have been there before but this was my first overnight stay....and I have to say I really wasn't disappointed on any count!
