Very expensive and the rooms are simple. But you're paying for location and views. The dining room is beautiful and the food very very good. Excellent wine list. If you go for Sunday brunch make sure to make reservations.

This is a bucket list hotel and you will remember your stay here forever! Pros: style, history, dining room Cons: price (but worth doing for at least 1 night)

We stay at the Ahwahnee because it has become a family tradition. As world travelers, we would agree that it is terribly overpriced. However, we will continue to return! Stay in a cottage as the rooms in the hotel are small and noisy.

A little luxury after a bucket list accomplishment is well deserved. We stayed at the Ahwahnee after an arduous hike up the sub-dome and then the cables on Half Dome. It made for a terrific way to cap off the day.

We have stayed at the Ahwahnee Hotel before, but this trip was special. We had our wedding reception there 50 years ago. The cottages are most expensive, feel spacious, but A/C a little noisy. Best just to open windows and smell the forest air.

We chose the Ahwahnee, knowing it would not be inexpensive, but would be a special occasion for us. We were given beautiful room with views of Yosemite Falls out the window. Yes the hotel is "not new", but everything was comfy, food and drinks were terrific, and getting around so easy. Free wifi was spotty, but it's not a place... More

Certainly a classic hotel in a wonderful location. The pool was nice and hardly used despite the near 100 degree temperature when we visited. Central location, with shuttle bus access to most of the Valley sites. $41 per person special tour bus to Glacier Point - we drove late in the day to miss the tour bus crowds (about an... More

This is a review of standard cottage room number 721 at the Ahwahnee, not of a hotel room. This was our fourth visit to Yosemite and we have previously stayed very happily at Yosemite Lodge at The Falls. On this occasion we thought it would be a great idea to try the Ahwahnee and loved the idea of staying in... More

Good afternoon Lesley S Thank you for taking the time to post your review of your stay in one of our Standard Cottages. I am so very sorry that we let you down especially after staying at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls during your past trips and then wanting to experience The Ahwahnee. Parking is definitely limited at The Ahwahnee.... More

This lodge reminds me of Yellowstone, The red carpet, the old light fixtures, they have a lovely area where you can sit outside and have a drink. Very clean with a beautiful lobby. Private party room and a very nice gift shop with high quality items. Also a swimming pool. It was pretty hot when we were there and traffic... More

We live relatively close to Yosemite and visit often. The Ahwahnee hotel is amazing. We spent a couple of nights a few years ago, just so we could say we did. Other than the rooms themselves all of the rest of the hotel is available to people staying anywhere in the park. Have a drink on the patio or lunch/dinner... More
