You have to stay here at least once in your lifetime! Try to stay two nights to enjoy all the Ahwahnee has to offer. We hiked, ate too much, shopped and lounged by the pool. The concierge was helpful and we signed up for the historic tour of the hotel and really enjoyed it.

The Ahwahnee's unique flair and great location make it worth the money. To stay within the Yosemite National Park is a huge advantage because the drive from most entrances to the valley is quite long. Our room was spacious with very comfortable bed and small bathroom. We ate at the bar because the dinning room requires business casual dress and... More

We have stayed here a few times over the years in both summer and winter. Its a pretty amazing place and being in such a place of history is pretty neat too. Each time we have been here we have seen some celebs hanging on the patio. Its pretty pricey though. If you can get past that you will enjoy... More

The Ahwahnee is a venerable institution and a national landmark, so any review needs to be approached with an amount of deference for its place in history ! It is a listed building - so be a in mind in summer that means it has not been possible to retrofit aircon into the guest rooms in the main building. The... More

It's very difficult to think about the hotel and its surroundings separately because being in the heart of Yosemite is integral to the hotel's charm. What a priceless location! Yes, the hotel's a bit faded and dated but I wouldn't want steel and glass modernity there. It simply oozes character with a great sense of history. Our room was fine... More

This is a grand old place in a great location but hideously overpriced and staffed by ghastly individuals, whose attitudes run the gamut from sanctimonious pomposity to complete and utter indifference. Seriously, the service here is appalling, among the worst I have ever witnessed. We stayed in the Library Suite, which was OK. Had dinner in the restaurant one night... More

We spent several nights in the Mary Curry Tresidder suite during an unseasonably early and warm spring. The room is not remarkable, though the bathroom and dressing area adjoining it are quite large. On balance, the large, featured room we had before moving to the suite may have been a larger, more pleasant room. Nevertheless, this suite had gorgeous views... More

I loved this place, but not so much the restaurants. We grow our own food, so we are a bit snobbish this way. I felt super special just being there, but I had to sell a few cows to pay for it! It was great to take long hikes, then have this wonderful place to relax in at night.

What a view! Amazing Yosemite doesn't disappoint! The hotel is traditional and the architecture is beautiful. The dining room is stunning in the evening with all the candles, and we had a wonderful meal there, albeit expensive. The bar menu was disappointing though and lacked choice. We used both breakfast options which were satisfactory. Neither were wonderful. The buffet didn't... More

Old world style, and renovated. Our room was lovely but small. It faced Yosemite Falls. Appreciated the choice of dining facilities and very helpful concierges.
