I've visited the Ahwahnee for about 50 years. Seeing her whole with the falls in the background, walking into her lobby, visiting her public rooms, particularly the grand dining room, marveling at her furnishings were still breathtaking experiences last week when we arrived for a 4 night stay. But this time, something was off. The bar off the entrance was... More

OK, up front, I will agree that Ahwahnee is way over priced… Disneyland is way over priced; but, you don't go because you're getting a bargain. You stay at Ahwahnee for something other than price. The character, the charm, the nostalgia – is worth the price for admission. Can management do better in conveying a sense other than “rip-off”? Certainly!... More

We had a wonderful visit. This was my first visit in a rustic hotel and the room didn't match what I was envisioning. After reflecting on the history, availability and of course - it's in Yosemite - I like the experience even more in retrospect. The public areas and of course the grounds are stunning.

This is the type of historic property one must stay at. The setting is beyond compare. The dining hall is legendary. The rooms are overpriced but adequate. History abounds here and you'll appreciate the experience. One criticism - the WIFI. Now, it's debatable whether WIFI is even important in Yosemite Valley, but if you're going to offer it, it should... More

We visit Yosemite once a year. When we can get in, the Ahwahnee is a transcendent experience. Old school (not luxury like city, luxury like country) with amazing service. The people make it magical. Open yourself up to your fellow guests and you'll love your visit.

The Ahwahnee is a beautiful hotel surrounded by scenery that has captured the imaginations of generations of visitors. The vintners event added a memorable dimension to our visit. We are already planning to go back next year!

We attended a three day Vintners' Holiday in November. There was ample opportunity to hike in the valley in the morning and take in the autumn leaves and wildlife. The wine seminars in the afternoon were educational and enjoyable. The Vintners' dinner the last evening was superb. We'll be back.

Attended a food/wine event at the Awhanee - so well organized and the accommodations were wonderful. We loved the views from our room and the dining room was spectacular. Food at the gala dinner was top-notch and served very elegantly.

This is a luxury hotel, but the most important thing about it is its location in Yosemite. My room had a view of Half Dome! I just was there in November and the park was lovely - autumn leaves and no crowds. The dining room of the Ahwanee is a beautiful space with excellent food and the bar is a... More

We travel to the Ahwahnee yearly to attend the Vintner's Holiday package and love being there. The accommodations are fine, the access to hiking, biking, etc. make for a wonderful experience. Staff is attentive to our needs and respond quickly to our requests. Without question we will return again.
