As soon as I spoke to Karen on the phone to book our trip, I knew we had chosen the perfect place to stay. Karen and her two charming daughters were the perfect hosts, and our trip would not have been as exciting or magical had we not chosen to stay at this Bed and Breakfast. Karen is incredibly knowledgeable... More

stayed at the high sierra B&B for four nights in august as part of a trip around california for our honeymoon. this place is fantastic and a far better alternative to staying in the valley. the owners Karen and Bob were superb hosts with invaluable local knowledge about yosemite national park. we took their advice on places to eat, hiking... We were absolutely delighted with our three night stay at High Sierra in mid August. The house was wonderful, out and in, with polished wood floors and a really high level of equiping and maintenance reflecting the owners' care for their home and for their guests. Karen and Bob (and family) were enormously welcoming and really informed about Yosemite. They... More

My husband and I stayed here for a week in July and had a wonderful experience. Karen (as posted many times before) is great with helping plan your day so you get the most out of it..She provides maps of the areas you are going to visit. and she has a bookcase FULL of books on Yosemite. She also has a... Anyone who has actually ever been to Yosemite High Sierra B & B could never say this place is run down (as in the previous post). We stayed for 4 nights on our first trip from England (hopefully of many) to Yosemite and could not fault our stay. It is clean, well run and welcoming. The breakfasts were superb, the... More

We stayed there 3 nights and were very happy: Big plus are: - Away from tourists filled yosemite valley - Breakfast is just what one needs for a tough long day hike: hearty. It always consists of fresh fruit (starter) and a home made hot meal. Karen is a great cook (see picture: Karen w/ German pancake) - As it... More

I can't say enough about how lovely the family that owns this b&b is, and how nice the property was. It was, for us, in the perfect location - approximately a <5 minute drive to the Glacier Point turnoff and a 20ish minute drive to the valley floor. So much nicer than staying in the valley - cool at night,... More

Our stay at the Yosemite West High Sierra Bed and Breakfast was pleasant. They asked us a number of times if there was anything we needed. Bob and Karen were very friendly and helpful in planning our days: they are extremely knowledgeable about the park and trails. It was nice talking with the other guests in the great room in... More

My wife and I stayed at this B&B in October 06. As owners and operators of a B&B in Suffield CT, we are well placed to evaluate the quality of other B&Bs. We appreciated Karen's great hospitality and accommodations. The breakfasts were good but not the gourmet type. Karen has a very good knowledge of the Park and helped us... More

BEWARE - I booked this guest house in late 2005 for a three night stay in september 2006. However, in March 2006 I had to cancel our trip to America. I contacted all the hotels we had booked, including Yosemite West High Sierra. All returned our deposits and accepted our cancellation. However, YWHS have still to refund our $295 deposit.... More

We run the B&B because we enjoy the wonderful experience of living in such a beautiful remote area while having the opportunity to visit with guests from all over the world, in our living room. We have made many friends over the last fourteen years, several have returned with family and friends to share their Yosemite experience. We have only... More
