I stayed 5 nights in a Frontier Cabin during June 2014. They are bare bones, for sure. But at the same time they are comfortable, clean, and have hot water. Most of all: location, location, location. No complaints; I'd stay there again (if I could book one again - meh!).

No air conditioning but they do have a fan. The cabins were near the Old Faithful Lodge so the trip for coffee in the morning wasn't far. Very, very basic but clean. Shower, sink, double bed and a small desk. They work out alright but strictly basic housing.

I was a bit apprehensive about our cabin, after our check in experience. It was the third straight day of freezing cold rain in Yellowstone, and we were soaking wet and cold when we checked in for the cabin. All we wanted was to get our keys, go to the cabin, change into dry clothes, and warm up. The gentleman... More

These cabins were perfectly sized for our trip. Nothing more is needed but a bed, and with the addition of a sink, that's all these basic rooms offered. Unlike Mammoth, the shared bathrooms are in a totally different building, requiring you to walk outside to them. This isn't bad as long as you're ready for it. It has the advantage... More

We had one of the smaller frontier cabins. There was another cabin attached to the back like a little duplex but we never really heard our neighbors. Don't expect too much with these... No coffee pot, hair dryer, iron... Certainly no TV or WiFi but then again if you are in Yellowstone there are far more interesting things to do... More

This was a wonderful experience. The cabins are very basic, exactly what you would expect. But the water was hot, the A/C worked and to be that close to Old Faithful was a plus in itself. We were able to see it erupt three times in the two days we were there. Old Faithful Lodge is close by, for buffet... More

We stayed two nights and were more than satisfied. I was afraid of what rustic might mean, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The cabin was small, and I'd certainly have preferred a Queen bed for my husband and me, but the heat worked well (important because it snowed and hailed during our stay) and there was ample hot water... Our cabin was a 2 minute walk from old faithful. Robert at check in was very friendly and helpful. The cabin looks like a shed from the outside however although small had ideal en suite facilities, heating and was very clean. We eat at the cafeteria which had a good range of well priced tasty food. Staff were friendly and... More

First of all, we are campers so we are perfectly fine with group bathrooms. And these bathrooms are by no means a typical campground bathroom. They are super clean and very nice. If you want to save some money, this is the way to go. There is no way I'd trade this for a hotel outside of Yellowstone. We stayed... More

It's hard to find lodging that gives you good access to the park outside of staying at one of Xanterra's locations. We decided to stay at the Lodge Cabins so we'd be closer to Jackson Hole on our second night. The cabins are clean, very simple and have no amenities except soap/shampoo. There is a bed, a sink and a... More
